Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The checkin process was efficient and the staff were helpful and happy to accommodate requests. It was helpful too, that they spoke such good English The room was comfortable, clean and modern with all amenities and it was possible to open the windows for fresh air. Although the hotel is situated in a business area close to the airport there was a supermarket, cafe and restaurants nearby.

CanadaThe room was quite warm and we were not able to adjust the thermostat to get more air circulation or cooling. The only option was to open the window - which is not ideal considering neighboring runway noise. The front desk staff advised that the aircon is centrally controlled and cannot be adjusted. They offered a fan which was delivered to our room. That helped a lot.
The accessible room we booked met all our expectations.

United StatesThey have central heating/air conditioning and so can't adjust rooms. We are normally easily cold and this was quite warm. They said no way to adjust heat in the room. We asked for a fan. There was only a fitted sheet and a comforter - no top sheet - made it uncomfortable temperature.
Good location near the airport. Every 30 min shuttle from and to airport. Some local restaraunts, minimal shopping. Good place to stay for transit. Big fluffy pillows, comfortable bed.

CanadaAir conditioning was not working at all, therefore room temperature, even in April, was way to warm and not good air quality which was affecting the quality of our sleep. Even worse, I was told that this is normal for this Hotel and that it happens in all rooms and that nothing could be done about it. Opening the windows was not an option, in part related to the noise level outside and also because of the fumes from Traffic and Airport. Additionally, the quality of the towels was very cheap and small bath towels. From a Hotel like the Holiday Inn, I would expect better quality.
Very friendly good staff with fast and professional check in/out. Very helpful overall.

United StatesTheir dinner menu was very limited and a bit expensive for what you got. But the breakfast the next morning was great and allowed for many options to choose from. Our room was on the first floor and looked out into an unkept courtyard--but we didn't get this room for the view.
It was very convenient finding the shuttle bus from the airport to this hotel (and the bus driver was very nice). The hotel is beautiful inside and our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful in the directions to catch the shuttle the next morning back to the airport.

MaltaThis time round I was disappointed with the state of the carpet in my room. It needs a good cleaning or changing. Checkin and check out took too long and when I returned home I had to write twice to receive the invoice by email even though I requested an electronic invoice at check out. Breakfast was extremely disappointing because although hotel claimed they provided gluten free bread and lactose free milk, the bread had run out and they did not have lactose free milk. The milk alternatives they offered were NOT gluten free. In German shops it’s easy to find lactose free milk so there’s no excuse.
I like the fact that the hotel offers a shuttle service at just €6. The bed is comfortable and there are four pillows to choose from.
