How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The walls and doors were very thin, everything could be heard, and the neighbors were making noise. The glass in the bathroom was cracked and taped, it was very cold there. It was inhabited for a very long time.

No Kettle was available. There were lights on celing with broken glasses. No proper door locks. No proper ventilation in bathrooms

Separate bathroom and toilet shared with other guests. Quite old house. But for the price we paid this was totally OK.

The rooms weren't that clean, the court yard outside the room wasn't maintained and dirty, the bathrooms are super small, not close to the city center.

The building is old and everything creaks. One of the the two shared bathrooms was so small you could barely get in the door to close it.
Location is great. They have free parking.

. - THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT BASIC STUFF: FOR EXAMPLE THEY SPARE MONEY ON TOILET PAPER! IN 2022 IT COULDN'T HAPPEN! SHAME OF YOU! -soup dispenser was always empty. - They check the rooms everyday. For what? To steal something? - almost all door handles were broken... - many ceramic tiles in the toilets were smashed. - they don't have any common room. - they don't write on the webpage/booking page that you wil be charged for tourist tax. - all facilities in room were smashed.

We had a lot of problems with this accommodation. For example, to begin with they didn’t have our booking on file when we arrived and we had a spend a good amount of time explaining it to the person at the desk. The toilets are not in a good condition and didn’t have toilet paper regularly. My friend was stuck inside the washroom because the lock on the door was jammed and we had to fix that ourselves. Would not recommend this place for a long stay.

we had a shared balcony, neighbors could look into our room. the beds were very basic, the shared bathroom had a very small shower, the floor was broken and slippery

The hotel itself is from the beginning of the last century,the furniture,flooring or bathrooms were never updates. the carped on the stairs is still from the first generation,is rotten and slippery. Towels you cannot hang in the rooms,the hanger broke off one day and noone ever fixed a new one. the bathroom is definitely not cleaned to an acceptable status.its simply aweful.

The person who gave keys had no time to talk. After I took keys he immediately asked for money for 2 nights and then the reception was totally closed for next 2 days. The bed was so bad that it made sound even if you turn once, it was the worst bed ever in my life. Totally uncomfortable bed and bad no staff to answer any questions any time. 🙄🙄

We didn't find breakfast to be available, parking spots can get tight! Bathroom very small, but you make it work.
We loved the location to be able to walk to breakfast and dinner some days, but chose to drive our car to most other places. We found that they seemed not to have breakfast available even though they said they would...
