Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandCasting to television not working as advertised. Someone came to room to check but unable to fix. The shower in bath was inaccessible to my elderly mother. A step would have helped, also unavailable.
Location as close as possible to train station. Staff impeccable! Extremely well trained and helpful. Good quality furnishings. The issues I had were offset by writing off bar tab for drinks, a generous gesture.

United Kingdompressure in the shower was so bad I could barely wash my hair. it took me ages to rinse. We have stayed in this hotel many times over the years and there used to be snacks in the room and a mini bar. Now there was nothing. Standards have slipped. Too expensive for what it offers.
Location is very good and parking is on site. Room is clean. Bed is big and comfortable

SwitzerlandIt was a birthday stay and we received an email asking exactly when the bday was, which we replied to. Expected something nice to be done with the room (for example, rose petals on the bed, like they have done *before* we arrived for previous anniversary stays). However, the day came and went without acknowledgement, so why send a special email asking when it was? I wonder why??!!🤷🏽♀️
Love the ambience of this hotel. Room service was great. Booked the wrong level of room and was able to upgrade quite easily.

United KingdomNo kettle in room. I had to pay extra for a bath, which, considering the cost of the rooms, is outrageous. They stopped serving food at 9:30pm so I couldn’t eat after work.

United StatesI disliked that I had to have breakfast in my room one morning, because I was not allowed to eat in the restaurant unless I had a covid test within 24 hours of dining. I'm not sure if this was a hotel policy or Bavarian government rules (due to covid). That said, I would still stay here again, even knowing that policy was (still) in effect. It just makes it inconvenient if you don't want to, or are unable (because of time/scheduling or other logistical issues), to get a covid test.
My room and the location were both fantastic. The hotel and my room were clean, as well as elegant and modern. The service at the hotel is wonderful as well. I would stay here again. The hotel is right across the street from the main train station, so it's a short walk and easy to find. There are also many stores and restaurants around the hotel, and a public park area not far away, so there's lots to see and do close by.

United KingdomOur original room had a shower in a bath tub and was very dated. In all rooms the water pressure was weak, making showering tricky. Heating did not respond to our efforts to control. Our first room was very cold and once we were moved, our new room was way too hot, despite us turning the control down.
All the staff are exceptionally friendly. We asked for a change of room, due to needing a separate shower and this was actioned very quickly. The bar staff are all lovely and very personable.

ItalyAlthough the location was within 5 minutes to Schlossplatz, the main town's square, to get there was scary! We've been travelling through Europe and visited many cities and NEVER felt unsafe as in Stuttgart!!! It really spoiled our trip. Rough area with homeless people, drunk people, crowds, people under influence of God knows what... The police is present, but it seemed after the fact; in our 5 minute walk each way to and from the center, we saw 3 arrests! For out 2nd night we decided to have dinner at the hotel instead of going through that area again in order to get to a restaurant! -our room was small and was very outdated, it needs love, it looks old and once inside the room we felt more like in a 3 star hotel rather than 5 stars 😞
The breakfast was lovely and the breakfast staff is the best in Europe, they all work very hard with a genuine smile on their faces, they are truly nice people especially Nicolas so accommodating and such a gentleman!

FranceI think the furniture is old and somber and I found the three rooms I saw depressing. I don’t think the TV is conveniently located compared to the bed (in any of the rooms). The wifi was often weak. The housekeeping kept knocking at my door (can’t you have a list of rooms that have checked-out?). I don’t think it’s worth the price as I’ve stayed elsewhere in Germany in much warmer and bigger rooms / hotels, equally well located, for half the price.
The staff was very nice and patient and changed my room twice because of issues I had with it. It’s close to the train station and very clean.

United StatesOnly downside was noise from the park across the street could be heard from our 4th floor room. Wasn’t terribly loud, but if you need complete silence to sleep, it might be distracting to you.

GermanyWe did not like that the TV was too quiet to watch in the evening. The location for this hotel is great but probably not wonderful enough to warrant the high prices charged.
The location and atmosphere were quite nice. It was very convenient being able to access the hotel elevator from the public parking garage. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. This hotel is a great option if you need to stay right in downtown Stuttgart.

United StatesThe service on the terrace was awlful The first night the two waiters were uninterested in looking after us. We had to wait 10 minutes before they came with a menus and then 1/2 hour before food came. There were only 3 other tables occupied, so they couldn’t say that they were busy We had lunch on the terrace next day and service was even worse. We Invited our niece to lunch. We ordered 2 salads and a club sandwich, the sandwich never came, the waiter forgot to order it. After another 1/2 hour it still didn’t come so we left with only two of us having eaten. We would never eat there again.

United StatesWindows are not sound proof. Following Italy's win against Belgium in the Euro 2020 football quarterfinal there was very loud honking and cheering around the Hauptbahnhof for a couple of hours which made sleeping impossible. Hotel is also right next to area of Schlossgarten where many of Stuttgart's homeless community reside in the park (dichotomy of hotel opulence vs. extreme poverty immediately outside).
Excellent location short walk to main train station - also Hop On Hop Off Bus pickup is right out front. Front desk and service super responsive with allowing early check-in and requests including delivering packages and picking up/returning laundry. Business center easy to use. Enjoyed the balcony, room air conditioning, swivel TV, and mini-fridge selection. Breakfast service was outstanding - fast, friendly, tasty, and nice view of park.
