Bedrooms are very dated, and the beds and pillows are very uncomfortable. For the price paid, I would expect tea and coffee facilities in the room. The rooms decor needs updating as very 1990s very much behind the times, the lighting was poor.

Room was absolutely fabulous. Great space, additional sofa to sit on, and door leading out to the garden (great if you have dogs with). If anything that could be made better is the coffee/tea facilities. everything in the hotel was "grand". long corridors, chandeliers in the reception, mirrors in the restaurant. Shame we did not get to use it properly, as we only stayed there one night, but Im sure this is a great place for weeding receptions etc

No water cooker in the room! Dinner was expensive and they forgot the fries, had to ask for them. Old German style hotel, not modern, I got the booking.com room. Breakfast also a bit disappointing. It takes ages to get from the lobby to your room.

There was no air conditioning system installed and in the summer it might get too warm. I was travelling in the spring so it was perfect but in the middle of the summer it could be tricky

Location was perfect just 1 min off the motorway. And breakfast was amazing. Expensive but worth the price.

It's a sizable hotel with lots of space so I was surprised to find that it didn't have a gym for guests.

The lighting in our room was terrible. It was so dark that we needed a flashlight to read. The TV didn’t have an English Speaking news channel. Better vacuuming also under our bed, room322 would be appreciate.

The breakfast was good. However not as good as a year ago when Waben Honig was available.

Maybe it is a little dated at first sight, but these hotels get older with charm. They are not shining anymore, but stays solid.

Van der Valk hotel has excellent staff and spacious rooms.

The rooms and the hotel are so classy, spacious and clean. The restaurant has a great breakfast. The hotel is so near the autobahn but nestling in the woods, quiet and green.

The morning staff still push you all together in to a small area although all the tables are set up for breakfast, you have to sit where they tell you.

Did not like - Location , had real tough time travelling to Messe Dusseldorf , even the accessibility to ones room changing 2 lifts was a bit uneasy Transportation was a real challenge

Liked the helpful nature of the staff and their willingness to help at any time given a call. Also it was nice to have front desk staff who could communicate in English

The air con in the room didn't work. The bathroom sink and shower didn't drain properly. There was a lot of noise from the local railway that kept us awake even though we asked for a quiet room. Everything in the room was a little 'tired' and could do with a refurbishment.

Extremely pleasant staff throughout who made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Lovely restaurant with good food.

The door to the badroom is a sliding door which opens towards the beds and makes a lot of noise which is not practical when there are two people sleeping in the room. Either you wake up from the noise or the light in de bathroom (if you leave the door open continually). Bathroom itself is nice enough with seperate bath and shower.
