Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLoading and unloading your car before parking is a little difficult. You basically have to stop in the middle of the cobblestone street in a busy area. The hotel staff did help us with this. Parking is a few blocks away and cost extra.
The location is fantastic - right in the heart of Altstadt Heidelberg. The place is a little oasis in the midst of the busy scene near the Old Bridge (Altabrücke). The room was large and comfortable with a little seating area. The breakfast was phenomenal and the outdoor space for eating is very peaceful. We also enjoyed one dinner in the hotel restaurant. It was superb.

United StatesAs great as the location is, it is LOUD. We were unable to figure out if/how to get AC. It was too loud to keep windows open and too hot to keep them closed. Safe to say we didn’t get much sleep. It was a Friday night and we heard people in the streets until 4:30 in the morning. The cars going by were extremely loud too.
AMAZING location! Could not have picked a better place to stay in terms of proximity. In the heart of Alstadt near the old bridge. 5-10 min walk to the base of the castle. Near several restaurants and shops. The room was spacious and had a view of the Rhein and a small patio. The hotel kept our luggage while we waited for check in.

IrelandJust a small thing, but we would've been happier to have a mat in the shower for safety reasons. However, this hotel was not alone in not supplying a mat. We found this to be the case wherever we stayed. Particularly important for anyone who may have mobility issues.
This hotel is in a perfect location, right beside the Old Bridge over the Neckar river, very picturesque, lots of ambiance with good bars and restaurants all around. Sebastian, our host, was very charming and helpful and gave us a good deal for our room plus breakfast. He also ordered a taxi for us to return to train station when we were leaving.

Switzerlandthe door of shower can’t be closed & opened easily, so water sprayed out and makes bathroom ground the sea.. also it would be better if electricity outlet can be near sofa/bed, now I only find one near entrance door and in bathroom, which’s quite inconvenient if I want to use phone & charing the same time..
lovely decorated room, spacious and clean. location and view are impeccable, through window u see the old bridge & even the bronze monkey statue. warm reception too

BrazilThe restaurant is always packed for dinner so it gets a bit noisy. It didn't bother us much because we always arrived late and tired, but, for someone who likes to sleep early might be an issue.
Location couldn't be better! Absolutely perfect! In the middle of "everything". They have an elevator. We stayed in Suite #2 which was very big and comfortable on the 3rd floor. Probably a family room with its own upper floor. Bathroom had a very good size ( no amenities, but this seems to be the pattern these days in 3/4 star hotels) and one of those hangers that warm up the towels that came in handy and give extra comfort. Breakfast is very good in the restaurant that belongs to the property. Worth every penny. Not super-fancy but super-nice place to stay. Definitely a hotel to return!

Czech RepublicThe only (not so serious) downside was that our room on the 1st floor didn't have "real" windows, because they led to a corridor, which meant that the room couldn't be properly ventilated (especially at night). I imagine it can get really hot in the summer. However, it is fair to say that this fact is quite clear from the photos here on Booking.com. Also, an electric fan was provided, so that helped a little at night.
The location is perfect, the hotel itself has a very nice homely feel and is very comfortable. Our room was rather small, but lovely, convenient and very clean indeed. Breakfast was delicious.

United StatesThe mattress could have been a little more comfortable (but in general it wasn't bad and definitely not a deal breaker). We had a wonderful stay!
The location of the hotel and overall ambience was incredible! With the type of room I chose and with some luck, we had an amazing loft that led to a gorgeous view of the castle at night. It was like something out of a fairy tale! The room we had was spacious and the bathroom was clean. We always had fresh linens.

KuwaitIt is difficult to get a car park in front of the hotel to drop off and load the bags, but the good thing is that the hotel provided us with a discount in the central parking, but it is a little far away. The thing that I did not like about the room is that the double bed is two single beds, where the two beds are moving away from each other while sleeping which is annoying.
The staff was so friendly and helpful, the details of the building including corridors and rooms, and their interest in the interior design, it is a masterpiece of renovated art. In addition to his location.

Alex was kind and responsive when we checked in to the hotel in the evening and then when we left in the morning. The location was wonderful, which was right in front of the bridge, as well as being able to sit out and have coffee by the local Italian cafe store around the corner, or restaurants and bars to enjoy. What will have us coming back was the fact that the entire staff, one whose name I believe was Ludiv, was so friendly in the morning asking if we would like to come in for breakfast or enjoy some coffee or tea outside. The bed and room were clean and they did have radiators to keep warm and an A/C unit if needed which can only be turned on when the key card is inserted into the wall. There is soap and shampoo to be used as well in the bathroom if need be. Checking out was a breeze just turned in our key there was an option to store your luggage if you wanted to explore more after you checked out. When we came home distraught at the fact that we might have left it in the room, and phoned the hotel and spoke with Alex, who went to the room when he was able to and checked for the missing item, and gave us a call back to relieve are stress that he had found it! He asked us to email our address and he said he would mail it off as we live 1.5 hours away from Heidelberg. Sure enough within a few days, it came in the mail. We admire and appreciate how he is courteous, helpful, and responsive to making sure that one's stay would be an experience to remember and to surely tell others about.
