Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandUnfortunately, our heating did not go in the room. The first day receptionist didn't seem to care, but the next day, another receptionist suggested a room change. We didn't as it is a hassle moving for just one more night. Gave us complimentary breakfast for our inconvenience. Thank you, good customer service.
Great location to the old part of town. 2 min walk to the main train station. Wifi is good, but only for one device, we got 2 codes. Small rooms but comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Staff friendly.

NetherlandsBeing there in the summer, the lack of AC was a massive downside to our stay. The provided fan couldn't do much with the heat that kept the room too hot through the night and made sleeping very, very difficult. I can imagine this being a problem only a few days per year, but I thought it was worth mentioning/warning.
The location and the spaciousness of the room was top level.

Germany2 complimentary bottles of water in the room is definitely appreciated, but I consider this should be every day, not only on the first day. Living room for the breakfast has probably not been renovated yet, and looks a little dated compared to the rest of the hotel which has been renovated.
I have stayed several times at Hotel Huss and this is always a good choice. I have always had nicely renovated and equipped rooms (some works seems to still be ongoing in corridors). Location is very good: 3 minutes walk to the old city, just next to the main train and bus station (Limburg North).

GermanyPillows were not so good! As a group it would have been good to have a bigger place to Meet up and have a drink before going to dinner or after dinner. A lounge is missing.
Good work on the renovations. Colour combinations were very good in the rooms. Breakfast very good. Despite proximity to rail station the rooms were quiet enough - at the back of hotel at least. Good that parking is free too.

GermanyThis was my 2nd stay in Hotel Huss, 2 nights each time. This time, the bedroom was smaller, but still fine for one person. I am disappointed that complementary water is not being offered every day: why on the first day only, and not on the 2nd day although price is the same and there is much less work to do for house keeping (no change of bed linens, towels, no deep cleaning of the room)? My door was creaking, difficult and quite noisy to close. I realized another door on my floor was also noisy, probably same problem. This type of problem should be reported by house keeping and fixed as soon as identified. These are small details but fixing them would give a 5/5 ranking. Side comment: I would strongly discourage anybody having dinner at the sushi restaurant next door. Frankly speaking, not much to do with Japan, all being Chinese (staff, decoration). These were the worst sushis I have ever had in my life. I just had a few pieces, then decided to leave the restaurant after less than half an hour. Price was expensive though. I do not think the restaurant is any related to the hotel, but I would like to avoid other guests to have the same disappointment as me.
Location: 3 minutes walk from the old town, and also next to ZOB Nord station and the bus terminal. Large bed made of 2 separate beds with 2 quilts as it is usually the case in Germany.

GermanyIt was a 2 nights stay. 1st night, rating was 10/10: large, clean, comfortable room with a pleasant decoration, 2 small bottles of sparkling water, friendly service at the reception. 2nd night though was down to 7/10: the service has been limited to placing my comforter back on the bed and removing the empty bottles of water, I would estimate no more than 1 minute activity. To my surprise when I entered into my room in the evening, there were no new bottles of water, the bin had not been emptied in the bathroom, and the 2 towels which I had used had not been nicely folded back onto the rack but left exactly as I had left them in the morning. When I explained at the reception that house keeping had forgotten to leave new bottles of water, I was explained that these were only given as a complementary gift on the first day! I was offered to by some for 5€ if I wanted, which I declined. While I agree with bed sheets and towels not being replaced for a 2 nights stay, the room should however be cleaned and left back to initial condition (towels nicely placed on the racks, new bottles of water). It is not acceptable to have a lower service on the 2nd day.
Breakfast from 6:30 was good. Location is convenient, downtown, next to the train & bus stations, 5 minutes from the old city.

United KingdomWe stayed a Friday and a Saturday night, and there was quite a lot of noise for several hours from traffic (the hotel is adjacent to a traffic underpass), revellers and sirens. Maybe the rooms at the back would be quieter?
Really good breakfast selection of hot and cold food: bacon, scrambled and boiled eggs, cereals, breads, meats, cheeses, vegetables, jams etc. Bedrooms and bathrooms are very modern - they are clearly refurbishing the entire hotel. Our room, at the front, had a view of the Dom. Centrally located next to the railway station, with free parking, and within an easy walk of the old town, the Dom, and the river.

NetherlandsOnly 1 minor downside: the hotel itself has no restaurant. It is linked via a door at reception to an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, but that is not worth the try. The sushi restaurant staff is friendly, but the food and ambiance are far from ideal. Suggestion is to just walk a few minutes into town to find a better restaurant.
Very decent overall stay. Easy check-in after alignment on arrival time, wifi, clean room, very decent bed, good price, friendly staff, central location next to the train station, close to town. It's a few minutes from the A3 motorway and ideal for a roadtrip stopover, or just to explore Limburg and the surrounding area itself. Despite its central city location, it's perfectly quiet at night. The optional breakfast is simple, but has what one needs to start the day. But the best was the electric car / EV charger on the parking terrain (contact the hotel at booking to reserve it if possible). Officially it's labeled a Tesla Destination Charger, but it's a regular Type 2/Mennekes charger that charges at 22KWh (regular charging street charging speed) and should fit most EVs. The hotel just measures the amount of electricity charged once done and you pay per KWh at the front desk. The fee is decent and probably not much higher than regular street charging. Charging overnight at this stay is very convenient while travelling. As a backup: there's a regular street charging station right across the hotel.
