How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The air conditioning in our room did not work. No internet access in the room. Poor conection on the ground floor too. The last day while we were on breakfast, the cleaning lady forgot to close the door of our room, so when we came back the door was open. Not secure when you have your documents and money in the room.
The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was ok too. On some days poor (missing eggs, coffe, bread) etc. Many guests asked the receptioniost to refill the missing products.

Urine smell in the room even if it's clean. Wifi could be better. Obscure working hours of the reception especially on weekends: you may wait for a couple of hours until it opens, meanwhile none of the provided phone numbers are reachable - this is kind of scary, especially when you are with your family and small kids and there is already night outside.
Friendly staff, tasty breakfast, proximity to public transport, free parking, bunk bed, keyless entry, kettle for a 10€ deposit

The check out was at 1 pm. At 8 am somone started to knock the door - it was a cleaning lady. Shw said sorry and that’s all. Later she did it at 9 am. I was trying to explain that I would like her to come when we will not be there but she didnt speak any English. At 10 am she knocked the door again and with angry face lit. told us to leave.
The location and price. The tram was very close and journey to the city centre takes only 15/20 mins :)

Airconditioning wasn't working. The shower and toilet are really small and uncomfortable. No space to hang towel and clothes. Everything gets wet.
Good location with free parking near public transport. Dog was welcome as well. Good beds. Ok size room.

I suggest improve the ventilation or AC on the rooms. It was a good offer by booking, but a less expensive breakfast could be good

There was no ice or ice machine, no iron and ironing board in my room.
I enjoyed my breakfast, the tea was always hot, the bread was warm and fresh. There was no banana.

Some rooms have allowance to smoke, I guess this is still a thing. So the hallway was "tobacco freshness" scented. The cleaning itself was good, but both the hotel, room and sheets/towels were old, and you notice that is a cheap option, some linen was yellow aged. Berlin is an expensive city, but usually you get what you paid for. 80 euros for the room sounds too much.
The staff was great, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ibis good, so always the same but enough to start the day. Coffee was decent, actually better than the average ibis coffee. Berlin city center is still 40 min away, but well connected.

Everything was nice. A simple but cosy place to spend the weekend in Berlin.
