Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandSome things in this hostel need renovation. There is also something to improve about the cleaniness. Staff asked me about the time of arrival, even that I confirmed by the booking, which was quite confusing. Some rooms have windows at the side of the building located next to the street, which can generate a lot of noise. There was nobody to fill up the liquid soap in the toilet for three days.
Small, cozy hostel. Staff was very nice, common kitchen is well equipped, hostel is in the good location. There is a nice relaxing area/common room. Free coffee and tea!

United Kingdombed was SO noisy, anytime I moved it creaked so loudly, big dip in the mattress. We had an extra person put in the middle of the room as the hostel overbooked, very apologetic but was far from ideal. Not overly social but think I picked a bad week to visit (big marketing conference on)
good location, staff were lovely.

GermanyThe staff was so friendly, when we arrived, they told us that we received a free upgrade which meant that my friend and i could stay in a room just by ourselves with our own bathroom instead of sleeping in a room with two female strangers. the location was very good, the kitchen and the „living room“ were also very comfortable!

NetherlandsOverpriced but that seems to be the case for most of accommodation in Hamburg. On the weekend there is a lot of noise from a bar/club nearby.
The location is the highlight. Bed was comfortable, shower had a powerful jet of warm water. Possibility to check-in late at night.

United KingdomI had a flight from Tallinn to Berlin that was delayed by 3 hours, I contacted the hostel and they were waiting for me 3 hours after check-in time, around 1:30 am, I am very grateful for that, it would have been impossible find another place to sleep. The hostel feels more like a big, comfortable and cozy house. My shared room was spacious, with a couch, lockers, and large windows. I didn't have time to be there, but they have a great kitchen/living room with a wood heating. Good experience if you're looking for more than just a soulless hostel branch.

Hong KongMain unsatisfactory: bed, wifi and shower. The bed was too squeaky… I was in the lower one, there was a masculine gentleman staying on the upper bunk. whenever he moved, the whole bed shake like hell🥲 i was so worry the upper bunk might collapse somehow. Then sound was so annoying and i couldn’t sleep and had to take a night walk out to wait for his bedtime. WiFi is very good in the conman area, BUT there’s none in the room. Epic failure. The rain shower was pain in the ass too. I had to press the button every few seconds to get water… and the stream was not ideal.
very friendly atmosphere, very friendly travellers and staff! location is centred. the kitchen is well equipped, you can make your own feast like a pro!

PolandEverything was fine for my short stay.
The receptionists I met on arrival and departure were very cool. The neatness of the whole lodge is applaudable, also the idea of the private toilet for each room is soo on point. I was lucky to have quiet and friendly roommates also. I also like that the lodge is just a 9 minutes walk from the train station, I could find my way around easily. I totally recommend 👌. It's an okay value for your money.

HungaryThe room looked nothing like the pictures. 3 beds above each other, the space between them was so little you couldn't even sit up. The stairs to the upper beds are life threatening, it's really steep and the steps are really narrow. The neighbourhood is really noisy even at night and it seemed quite dangerous as well. The key for the personal safe opened all the other safes as well and it was really small too. Nobody locks the doors. The receptioninst is never there, so if you have a problem you can't get help. There is no WiFi in the room.

First time staying in a hostel so might be bias. The lady at the reception is super warm and welcoming. She was splendid and helped me in getting comfortable. The position is nice to visit the city and is closed to both metro and bus. Couldn't ask for more.
