We arrived on a Sunday. We were surprised to learn the bar and restaurant was closed. We managed to get a tea which was good but expensive. The breakfast was €24 a person, which is pricey.

The Location of the hotel is great. We upgraded to be in the main house which gave us a view onto the courtyard. We choose it because of its history. The room was spacious and quiet and the beds were comfortable.

The shower wasn’t private, had only a sliding partition which shielded it from the bed area but didn’t offer much privacy.

Setting was pleasant, but the hotel rooms were in a modern, separate building that felt nothing like a castle.

A bit pricey for the season, and price per dog was also a bit much, even though I am happy to pay for my dogs usually. I believe is was 20 euros per dog, per night.

Beautiful hotel. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows were very soft, but that’s down to taste I think. we travelled with our 2 medium sized dogs and we felt very welcome with them. (Spain to Denmark) The hotel is surrounded by an incredible forest where we went for a morning walk with them. Our dogs were allowed into the hotel restaurant with us. We had the breakfast buffet, which was delicious. There is also a great park and dog park nearby! would come back for sure.

Last year we could charge our electric car. This your this service has been discontinued “due to high electricity prices” as explained by the reception. why not increase pricing? For us not having charging facilities is a reason not to come back to this hotel, despite the positives of the hotel.

Service level (low level of customer care), e.g. reception staff on (private?) call for more than five minutes not serving checkout customers, breakfast staff must be asked for serving boiled eggs, pepper, hot water (annoying for the servant on day 1, shameful for unavailability with the servant on day 2), room cleaner makes herself audible as much as possible when her shift starts at 7:30 am…

It was very hot, when we stayed there and so was the room - a fan would have been nice. Also, the restaurant had a very limited selection - we had both lunch and dinner, which was a mistake.

Even though the property is huge, the rooms were in relation quite small. I am fully aware that I booked the rooms in the 'Zeughaus', which was a seperate building next to the hunting lodge, but even that was quite small for the price we paid. No breakfast options in the 'Zeughaus'

We spent the new year's eve with our little dog at the hotel. Everything was fabulous, since the quick check-in process, the room facilities, and the breakfast - which is a great value of money. I'd recommend this hotel and we will come back for sure.

We stayed in the Zeughaus, a separate building about half a mile away from the main hotel building. From the main building, there were no signs indicating the way to Zeughaus. We drove there and left searching for another place, because the building itself had no sign it belonged to the hotel. Instead, a sign "museum" which made us believe it was the wrong place. After dinner, we had to walk back in total darkness - a no-go for women traveling alone.

Nicely located. The park isa beautiful. Very convenient for visiting the center of Darmstadt.
