How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room were really hot due to semi working AC, the bathtub is a bit tight.

Some strange older parts in the bathroom. The room and most of bathroom was really very nice and recently renovated! Yet some parts in the bathroom looked +15 years old. Examples: Toilet seat was underneath shifting to a unpleasant deep brown/yellow colour, the water valve at the bidet was corroded, the one at the sink was completely new. And at the upper part of the radiator in the bathroom was rust breaking it’s way trough a new layer of painting, unpleasant to hang your towels nearby.
Very welcoming staff and great location with nice restaurant right in front plus plenty of parking spots in garage underneath. Air conditioning was running smoothly. Good coffee and tea rack in the rooms. Bed was comfortable, plenty of power plugs for smartphones and co

I couldn't adjust the air conditioning and sometimes felt a bit cold, although it wasn't too chilly. The room was excellent, but I felt it might have been cleaned a bit quickly.
The location of the hotel and the lake view were perfect and relaxing. The personnel at the reception were also very kind and helpful. The room was spacious and relaxing. I appreciated the ample working area and comfortable table, which are essential, especially during business trips when you need to work.

The car access is not direct so you always have a little walk from the road to the hotel enterance.
The hotel was very nice and clean. I specially love the incentive to prevent cleaning the rooms everyday by offering a complimentary drink coupon if you don't request daily cleaning of the rooms

One of these crazy open end showers that leads you to flood the bathroom at every occurrence

Staff very friendly and professional. Good location for us to drive to the Messe. I slept well. The air conditioning wasn't all that effective but OK in March but I'm not convinced cold enough in the Summer.

You had to pay or sign up if you wanted to access your room earlier. Most places will let you in free of charge if the room is clean and ready. It wasn't clear if the water was free or if it was in the charges for the mini bar. Our coffee was also not topped up and no milk was provided.
The location was tidy and over looked a lake. The rooms were very nice and modern. Beds were comfy and the shower and bathroom was great! There was plenty of space for our clothes. The whole hotel was very clean. Didn't get a chance to try the breakfast or other food.

The check-in experience was not that great as we were initially given a room which was not even cleaned. But when we informed the staff, they arranged us another room quickly. Location is bit far from the Cologne Central Station so you have to either walk a little bit or take a tram to explore the city.
A nice hotel located in Cologne Media Park. Our room had a nice view with a small lake view. Calm neighborhood and friendly staff.

The rooms at the front can be noisy as the geese in the nearby pond are loud in the summer!
Great location. My go-to hotel for my business trips to Cologne. Staff is nice, rooms are good. There is a gym.l as well, small but functional

This smart hotel is a 20-25 minute walk from Cologne train station and the cathedral. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful in assisting us to change our room when the online check-in went wrong and allocated us the wrong room. They also assisted us in storing our luggage at the hotel before check-in. The room was a good size, comfortable and clean. The Nespresso machine and complimentary pods replenished each day was a nice touch. There are restaurants and bars serving kolsch near to the hotel, but it also does not take long to walk into the centre of Cologne. All in all we had a very comfortable stay at this hotel.

The view from the window is on the inner courtyard and it has potential to be so much better - right now it's just an empty space with few patches of green.
The room was exactly like described and it was clean and comfortable. We were traveling with a cat and when we arrived we found litter box and cat food bowl waiting for us in the room - that was nice. If you ask to skip a day of room cleaning, you get a voucher for a free drink in the bar downstairs - that's a cool option!

The air flow in the room was a bit stuffy and warm at night. It did improve with the air conditioning on at nights.
Nice view of the park and radio tower. Good location next to a large Cinema complex with many restaurants. Parking below in a shared garage.

Main lounge could be made bigger and breakfast was rather expensive.
