Check-in went smoothly, the room was as advertised, and the beds were comfy. It's a hostel, so it's designed to accommodate groups and travelers and is fairly basic as such. Breakfast was simple but fine and plenty. What was very good: I left something in my room and for a small fee to cover the costs, they sent it back where I live (the Netherlands). All in all, was a very good stay!

The guy in the reception told me the breakfast is up to 11. But it is really to 10. In 10:10 I bought my coffee from the machine.

The staff were so nice. The cleanness was perfect. There is a machine that you can buy different types of coffee with affordable price( Americano for 1:50 only).

The staff did not tell me what time breakfast ended, so I missed breakfast. They told me I could stay at the cafe until 11 after check out, but mentioned nothing about breakfast times. The cleaning staff also opened the door to my room a few minutes before my check out time to start cleaning, but I was coincidentally on my way out, anyways. However, it did startle me and it would be better to tell them to knock or give a verbal warning for anyone who might be a bit jumpy when it comes to strangers popping up into their hotel room randomly. But these two complaints wouldn't stop me from staying here again.

The room was very comfortable and clean. The man running the cafe was very nice and the cafe food tasted good. The hotel left it's doors open late and briefed me in how to get in after they closed their doors for the night. My room had a locker in it, which I felt extra secure storing my items in. The bathroom was very clean and the towels were nicely presented. They left some fliers and chocolates in the room, which left a great impression on me.

Location is not ideal, as it is 45 minutes walk to city centre or a tram. At night, there is nothing to do around the hostel (in winter, I think there are summer bars), and no shops, so take that in account.

Good beds and rooms have a private shower. The breakfast was good as well, quite a bit of choices.

Recaption told us that breakfast continues till 11 AM, but in 10 food allmost gone and workers started cleaning. That’s why we spent money for breakfast in other place. Also due the road works it’s hard to find parking from the first time.

Free wi-fi only lasted an hour at a time and slowed considerably the more a lot of people tried to use it.

I was new to that part of Cologne. The staff at the front desk went above and beyond to help find the location I was there to visit. Also, it was a very secluded and green location, even with it being in the middle of the city.
