Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo one was at reception when we checked out in the morning and we also received a message saying that we had been a 'no show' for the booking even though we had checked in the previous day and had completed the check in process.
Good for a stop-over, clean, good shower, comfortable bed.

IrelandThis is a quirky Boutique Hotel, it is exactly as shown on the website. I had a small clean room with a firm bed, on second floor up a narrow winding stairway. Not suitable for travellers with big luggage. Ideal for short stay in the Harbour area, less than 10 minutes to various tram and metro stations

PakistanLocation: well, not close to train station, but yes you have good bus and subway connections, so no problem to reach there and other nearby locations. However, one side of the hotel is red-light area and other side is family residential area. So when you are on main roads - your children may ask questions about the sign boards on the sex-shops here and there. there is no lift in the hotel.. and stairs are narrow... you may face trouble dragging luggage if you get room on second floor.. sitting area at reception is also too small...
room was good, clean and nice. Comfortable bed. bathroom and toielt were clean. Hair dryer was available. on main road, there are lot of food points.... bus stations and subway station is near.

IrelandThis was the Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It would be the worst hostel ibe stayed in. The photos do not match the pictures on booking.com. The wall were damp, filty under beds and the bathroom was not in the room. The hotel was not cheap. Had friends stay around the city in much nicer hotels for 2/3 the price. Never again. Do not give reviews usually but would hate for others to be in the same situation.

GermanyThe location was perfect. I was not even aware how much was the hotel in the heart of St Pauli. At the same time, the street is not as wild as others streets. It was definitely calmer. The hotel was pretty ruhig, and the check-in and check out was super easy. For the service-price I would definitely recommend. Also very well connected and the WiFi worked great

NetherlandsNo AC in the room, anno 2021. That means you can only open the window on the backyard which is pretty noisy because of all the balconies of the neighbors with music etc. Breakfast was included but couldn't be arranged due to Covid? No upfront message on the mandatory rapid test for Covid-19. Had to do it when I wanted to check-in and wait for the results. I could have don't this earlier if i had known. Check-in was possible around 12 was told if the rooms were already free or leave luggage but there was no body there once I arrived. Strange and contradicting messaging in the booking app, one in perfect English, one in crappy English at 23:45 the night before with a different meaning. Rooms are small without a seat.
It's clean, bed is fine and it's on walking distance from the elbe.

DenmarkWe stayed on the ground floor, next to a small terrace. The soundproofing of the room is not good, so if you are easily distracted in your sleep it is hard to get quality sleep time! hearing people walking up and down the stairs.
The location is really good, and the rooms are comfy. The staff was really friendly we had no issues at all. I recommend it if you are planning to visit Hamburg for a long weekend.
