Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe guesthouse lies just outside of Sankt Goar (20 minutes walk to the city center). Of course we could have known if we had researched better, but it was an inconvenient surprise after a long day of hiking.
This guesthouse has the outside charm of a German gäststätte, but without the outdated looks. Feels very fresh and clean. Great hostess, so friendly. She really made you feel welcome. Breakfast was very good and extensive. Beautiful surroudings and quiet.

United KingdomFrom the moment we arrived the hosts were fantastic and very polite. They were very kind and helpful with any questions we had and the rooms were so clean and cosy that we wish we didn't have to leave. The scenery with vineyards nearby and Rheinfels castle was amazing, and the breakfast was the best continental breakfast I have ever had. Even the jams appear to be home made and taste wonderful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone considering it because it will be an unforgettable experience.

United KingdomI had an incredible stay here. The hotel is situated in a beautiful valley. It’s quiet and you can hear a stream that runs by the home from you room. The hotel has a park that leads to the ruins of a castle. The woman running the hotel is so kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. I also had flammkuchen and wine at the hotel and that was delicious as well. I would stay here again. Truly one of the best stays of my trip.

United KingdomOnly 1 small thing, there is no restaurant, this isn't a problem for people travelling with others as there are plenty of options in town however being by a solo traveller, a hotel restaurant is always a nice bonus if you don't want to venture out alone each night.
Absolutely beautiful stay at this gorgeous guest house! The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, she says her English isn't good but I thought she was brilliant :) the room was clean and bright and the bed was the comfiest I've stayed in one my 3 week trip around Europe. Also in a great location and my dog (Sir Winston, as he was nicknamed) was very welcomed. Will definitely recommend to everyone!

NetherlandsWe had a wonderful stay and we definitely recommend this place. The breakfast was amazing. Everyday they switched something up in the breakfast. So during our stay of 6 days we always had a (small) new thing to try! The service was perfect, the host is very friendly and made us feel at home. The view from the terrace is great, with the Burg in sight. Lush green hills surrounding the property and there are nice sunbeds to use in the garden. We had the apartment and it was nicely furnished, spacious and had all the (kitchen) equipment we needed The day we arrived it was 30+ degrees, but the house felt so cool. The location is also really good. There is a beautiful walk starting at the house to the Burg and to different villages through the mountains. Gorgeous! The town is 20 minutes walking with nice terraces and views. At the train station there leaves a train every hour to nearby villages. By car everything is so closeby. A really central location. Would recommend. Thank you!

NetherlandsI was traveling solo and got to stay in a single room which was under the attic and a bit small for comfort and so was the bed, it was more suitable to a young teenage kid… luckily I did not have much of sleeping in to do else it won’t have been that great
This is a surprisingly cozy and beautiful property; very well located on the hillside of SanktGoar and walking distance to the riverside. the owners are very helpful, courteous and caring I like the attention to detail they had put in for breakfast and dinners

Good location, basic comfort, much friendlier than these owners will be hard to find. Fall asleep to the sound of a babbling brook. Just outside Sankt Goar. Good service, also the opportunity to eat something in the evening. Beautiful and original dishes for the small and slightly larger hunger.
