Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere was no clear hotel signage for check in or main lobby. We had to ask for assistance!
Great on site restaurant and brewery. Close walking distance to restaurants, shops and Heidelberg castle.

United StatesComing in with a car can be a little tricky for parking but manageable. The breakfast was pricey ($20 euros p/p) but plenty of off-site options nearby.
Great location to the Heidelberg Altstadt and all attractions. Easy location to navigate from.

CanadaThe property was difficult to find because of the narrow one way streets. During the day the streets are crowded with tourists so it’s challenging to maneuver through this if you are not familiar with the area. The beds in the hotel were very hard.
The location of the property is excellent if you want to be near the markets.

United StatesI drove to the location and Google maps said we arrived but the hotel is actually down the Alleyway. We parked the car on the street and walked to the hotel because we didn’t know if we could drive down the alley. The hotel has several buildings. Our building had really steep stairs to get up to the room. I saw 2 elderly couples struggling to get up the stairs so if you have mobility issues this might be a problem.
The staff were so nice and helpful. We got to the hotel and they helped us get our luggage to the room. The room was large, clean, and spacious. Great location everything is right around the corner and the hotel has a beautiful restaurant. They also have parking that is secure with a gate around the corner.

United KingdomTea and coffee in the room would have been nice.
The room was very tastefully decorated and very clean. The location was excellent, very near both the river and the old town. The staff were all very pleasant. We enjoyed our stay.

United StatesRoom was a bit obtuse to find. They could have a layout map online or given at reception to show guests where breakfast room, room, and reception services are each located.
One couldn’t find a more convenient location central to everything in the old district, and reasonably priced public parking just steps around the corner. The restaurant and guest breakfast room are charming. Their is an elevator, however, their are steps up to reception and steps down to some rooms after the elevator, so if mobility is an issue, let them know. Everything was absolutely spotless and comfortable.

United StatesThe bathroom wasn’t very clean. The housekeeper left the soap bar wrapper on the sink and upon throwing it away, I discovered the trash had not been emptied. The beds were not comfortable at all. They were super hard mattresses. For the cost of the hotel, I found our room a little underwhelming. Lastly, while it was great to have a dedicated parking garage (for a daily fee) it is not as convenient as we had hoped.
The location was absolutely perfect. It’s located in the heart of downtown Heidelberg and we were able to walk everywhere. I also loved the proximity to their restaurant which was amazing.

United KingdomEven though breakfast is provided in wonderful, atmospheric settings, it is very expensive for an adequate continental buffet with very few options
At the heart of Heidelberg's magical old town and very convenient for Christmas markets, food and hospitality. The fantastic old dining room is at the heart of the experience and is just wonderful. Very atmospheric. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean and staff were friendly and helpful at all times.

United StatesGreat location in old town. The restaurant downstairs was both homey and lively. I think the staff might be family. The breakfast was a buffet line in the kitchen. Otherwise, the main dining room was huge and had corporate and cruise groups coming in. Still, it felt intimate.

ThailandIt was sad that, for the room at this price, there is no basic amenity like a kettle in the room. I had to walk down to the reception and asked for it. Still, it was not available as there were only three of them and all were occupied. While this is not something major, but it could have been better to comfort all guests.
The room was really spacious and cozy. The bed was very good. Our little kids slept very good for the entire night. The restaurant is also a micro brewery. Beer is exceptionally incredible and second to none in this town. I have been dining here since 2014 and keep returning for the beer and foods!

SpainI didn't check the booking website well enough, the room did not have air-conditioning. I am usually too hot at night, but luckily it rained that evening which cooled the outside air down enough to get the room cool enough to be comfortable.
As expected, a characterful hotel in the lovely old part of the city. A pity the traffic south of Heidelberg was very bad, so we lost 3 hours and could not arrive In time to see the old city.
