On arrival I noted that the safe in the room was not operational. It seems the battery was dead. I mentioned this several time to the reception but it seemed that they did not have access to the batteries. After two nights I gave up asking.

I had a great view over the River Rhine. The facilities were as described. Wifi was good. Although not included in the price there were good facilites for breakfast, and I also had a lunch there.

The room was small for some, but fine for me. The guy on reception was a bit grumpy - I was offered no maps (which i found were available on day 2), but the guy when I left was pleasant.

This was great value for money. It was a small room on top floor but fine for me for 2 nights. There was a working lift. I even had a view of the Dom towers from my windows! I also had a TV, desk & chair. Hangers and shelves for clothes. The location has many food & drink place right outside the hotel on the river, some with great river views. Considering how close the hotel is to these venues my room (facing away from the river) was really quiet. No street noise at all, just a distant rumble of metros going over river bridges, but not disturbing). Ten minutes walk from main train station and the Dom. Very close to Old Town for walking & sightseeing. Tip: I found the tram from Heumarkt more user friendly to get into the centre rather than the Metro from the main station (I found the Metro confusing).

A nice stay in a cute hotel at a very convenient location, but could use a bit of a touch up.

While lovely, the hotel is starting to show its age. It's not dirty or unclean, but there are some stains here and there, and small holes in the carpet, stuff like that. The beds in our room were also just a little bit sagged and I could see some springs sticking out through the bottom of the bed. Some of the lights were not working, either, but there are so many lights in the room that this is not an issue at all. Nothing major though. This place is excellent value for the prices they ask, especially considering the location.

This cute and cozy little hotel is located very conveniently overlooking the Rhine. The view on that side is great, and the staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful. We arrived early but could already go up to our room and leave our stuff there. The rooms have everything you need, including basic toiletries. The WiFi worked great during our stay, too, in contrast to some of the other reviews. The location is ideal for exploring the city. It's within walking distance to some of the major tram/metro locations and the central train station, as well as to the Dom.

The room was very much less than expected with its well worn furniture, two holes in the carpet, and a bathroom which had a shower some 9" higher than the finish floor. There was no heat in the bathroom, which was an issue. My room, #42, was in the attic was where the othe 5 rooms on the 4th floor and they too suffered from gabled ceilings.

The staff, with the exception of two VERY LOUD, wait staff, were courteous, attentive, and very helpful. The property was very close to the Cathedral and other attractions, and the central train where the S19 train got you to the airport for 3.80€

I think some rooms (including the one I stayed in) can make a lot of noise at night because they face the side where the generator or similar device is located. It didn't bother me much, but it may be a difficult situation for those who are sensitive about this issue.

I was welcomed very well from the moment I entered the hotel.

Hotel Kunibert offered a great location to base ourselves for the two-night stay. We arrived by car and used the recommended underground car park that we exited on foot with luggage onto Mulengasse just opposite the Hotel. As a family of 5, we booked a double room and a triple room - upon request the hotel happily provided these rooms close together. The rooms are clean and basic in their offering - a comfortable bed, and a small shower/toilet room. Perfect really if you have no intention of staying in them any longer than to sleep and wash. This was fine for us as nearly every waking hour we were out taking in the sights of Cologne, visiting as many Christmas Markets as we could, ice skating and walking the many cobbled lanes and streets, or along the waterfront where the Rhein flowed. There is a small lift (better than none at all) which was greatly appreciated to get luggage up to and down from the rooms. Being in a fairly busy area, street noise can be heard from the rooms, but we didn't find it too bad. There is no tea/coffee, kettle, fridge etc in the rooms. Early each morning we walked up to a little cafe and enjoyed a cappuccino. We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant situated on ground level and out front. We enjoyed the meals and the quick service (a basic expectation of every diner everywhere I would think) but disliked the expectation of a tip every single time. Overall Hotel Kunibert for us, was perfectly located for Cologne sightseeing and Christmas Markets

Staff kept us waiting for quite long time to check us in. There was loud music in the restaurant below (which is part of the hotel) until just before midnight. If you're there for a night out in town it's perfectly fine - but we had to get up early to catch a plane.

Location is excellent, really close to the centre of town, the river and the train station.

This property is a little run down, which is reflected in the price. However, one issue that you may want to consider is the shower. The door was broken and the water temperature changes throughout your shower, often scolding you.

Great location, the view of the Rhein is amazing. Walk to many local attractions and right next to the Christmas markets, if you are visiting in December.
