Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaIt was +16’ in the room when we arrived, and it took 3 times going to the reception to fix the temperature, as one can’t operate the heater in the room. That was very uncomfortable.

United StatesGreat location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and spacious rooms. The best hostel experience I’ve had so far in Germany — way better than many of the bigger places in Berlin, Hamburg, and Leipzig

GermanyI stayed at a 6-person women room for 5 nights and it was a very good experience. The room was spacious, so as not to be too crowded for 6 people, and each one has her own lampe and bedside table. The hygiene is also good in general. The place is right in the center of Weimar and public transportation is convenient with just 3(4?) stops from the main station (Hauptbahnhof). The staff are really nice people. I was new in Germany and asked lots of beginner questions like which kind of train tickets to buy, how to do the garbage sorting and they were very patient and helpful. They also helped me with printing and carrying my heavy suitcase up- and downstairs (speaking of which, there wasn't an elevator, so I would recommend people who need the help of it to inform themselves in advance about the facilities and for example the availablity of rooms on the ground floor). One more thing that I'm really grateful is that, I twisted my ankle the first day I arrived and urgently needed something to help with walking. They asked around and shared with me places where people kindly lent me a pair of walking sticks. The common space (including a nice garden) also feels comfortable, whether you want to be alone or are open to a spontaneous chat with people from different countries and backgrounds. Have also seen family with kids playing in the garden. Would definitely want to stay in the place again if travelling to Weimar again.

RomaniaI can't name a thing I didn't like. It's still a hostel, but a quality one.
Labyrinth is simply one of the best hostels I have ever booked. The staff was very kind and helpful, the room and the bed was clean, while the bathroom was suitable for a hostel. Also the location is perfect, not far from the main station (around 15-20 minutes by walk) and just in the touristic center of the city.

GermanyWell, the bed was hard as stone and some of the electrics made my hair stand out, but it's a hostel. If you don't like it, pay a hotel.
The community spirit of the place is great! The staff is very forthcoming and although you have to do some things yourself - as expected in a hostel - it never feels like work.

GreeceIn our room one of the window/exit door didn't have a curtain so in the morning it was very bright.
The stuff was very welcome! The atmosphere was very friendly. The garden between the two buildings is very relaxing. Pro attach on the room was the bedside table that had inside power sockets that you can also lock it. (Good to have more than one padlock other wise you can rend from the property) Towel and bed sheets were provided. The toilet and bathroom were always clean! A small area in the room that you can set there. There is a kitchen that you can use, also available coffee and tea all day there free of charge!

Poland- the room looks kind of old, with worn out furniture - my bed squeaked when I moved, the night stand smelled musty, and the couch serving as a sitting area did not look inviting
- quiet surroundings, with room windows facing the patio - friendly and helpful lady at the reception - free coffee and tea in the morning - well-thought bathroom (showering cabins additionally separated by curtains) - there's a very nice patio with tables and chairs, where you can enjoy nice weather and the peacefulness of this place
