Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

PolandI slept in a barrel. The only problem was the lack of bedding. You need to know to bring a sleeping bag and maybe a pillow. There is no WiFi in the place where the barrel is.
In particular, great and polite service. I got dinner even though the kitchen was already closed. Great value for money.

NetherlandsWas lacking some comfort such as hook to hang a coat, a shelf, pillows and the lightswitch was at my feet at night, so i turned the light on by accident a couple of times. Also the shower is not only shared, but also open/public (men/women sepparated). The sanitary building is quite old, could use a sweep to clear the spiders and moths. At check-in and check-out it was hard to find someone. Also on sundays, they are "closed". Couldn't reach anyone via message on Booking.com and also not by phone.
The Barrel-house was nice, and although the little house was very simple, it was comfortable enough. On a quiet part of the grounds.

United StatesThe mattresses could be a bit too hard and the pillows a bit too soft (low) for some. Arriving after 11 p.m., the roadway was pitch black and it was hard to navigate the unknown grounds. Herr Weber was a wonderful host, greatly helping us settle in. Everything else was perfect!
This hotel/campground was located in a verdant shaded area along the Aller River. The bountiful floral glory of May in the garden could be enjoyed from the restaurant windows or balcony. Further away, there were paths for hiking or biking, as well as a possibility for canoe rental. The rooms had good light-blocking curtains and were quiet, making for excellent sleeping conditions.
