Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomIt was further from the Rüdesheim (or even Assmannshausen) train station than I realised and all an uphill trek. But that's my fault, not the hotel's. And, if you need to get to/from Bingen Hauptbahnhof, be sure you check the bus and ferry times!
Breakfast was great and the evening meal was tasty even though the options were a bit limited. We were some of the few non-German guests but staff could not have been friendlier or more attentive.

CanadaThe building is old and the furnitures are dated. In our room 32, the floor covering was not done properly and it was wrinkled (like waves). The floor in the room was not clean. There was unpleasant smell in the bathroom and there was mold in the shower. There was no WiFi in the room.
The location was quiet. The breakfast was basic, but overall OK. Rachel, the waitress, was very nice and polite and did a great job. The private parking was a good addition.

A genuinely warm welcome which inspired me to eat there ( which I very rarely do in hotels ) - also very very nice all round. I had the best 0% beer I’ve ever encountered at the bar. Proper red squirrels outside and a sweet dog.

Germanyhotel very dated, room was sparse, but clean. Missing light bulb is bathroom so dark in there. TV didn't work and wife didn't care for mattress and comforter. Room was small although were are use to European hotel rooms being small. Parking was inadequate due to Wine bare next door and all the guess at the hotel.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
