The location is probably not ideal for travellers visiting the city centre and the main tourist attractions; we chose this neighbourhood for a reason.

What I always find disturbing is the restaurant situation. you have to book ages in advance to get a table, if you book your room last minute there is no chance of finding a space to have dinner. And this time I was really disappointed by my favourite hotel, because there was absolutely NO CHANCE at all to get food in the evening. You cannot even have a quick bite, standing at the bar. I was denied any food at 5:30 pm, a time where the restaurant was not even half full... and you cannot order neither in your room as the kitchen was simply overwhelmed. Considering that this hotel is in a residential area, far from any other restaurants or bars, this lack of service is just unacceptable. I will still come back for the wonderful rooms, the beauty of the space and the warmth and helpfulness of most of the staff, but if you book, either make other plans or book a table well in advance. and BTW: food and drinks are rather pricey (but good traditional food with a modern twist).

This is one of my favourite hotels in Hamburg and I have stayed multiple times. Especially in the cold season this is a true retreat, cosy and warm, the fireplace and the inviting sofas in the bar/restaurant (if you get a space...), but also the warm and comfortable furnishing in the room. It is a true home from home. And the staff is - most of them - wonderful, caring and welcoming.

The restaurant was booked very well and we had to wait until 20.30 hrs before we could get a table for our diner. Food quality was however very good. Staff at the reception did not react very pleasantly during our check in. Also the price of the breakfast is high compared to what you get.

Perfect quit situated in Hamburg. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. Perfect breakfast. The rooms are also nicely decorated and very quit. All works perfectly.

The only thing that could’ve been better was we had a French press in the room, which was very nice, but there was no cream. There was a beam next to the bed which made access a little tricky, but the room was beautiful anyway.

There’s not much to do around the property - we were unfortunate that we couldn’t get booked into the restaurant for dinner, as they were fully booked (so if you do want to eat at the hotel, I’d recommend booking in advance). We asked the staff if there was anywhere near but they could recommend and was advised to head into the city centre (about a half hour taxi away). There were also no shops etc near by/in walking distance. This is not to take away from how lovely and charming the hotel is, only to explain that if you don’t have a car, then I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and if you do, maybe stock up on some water/drinks for the room.

The property was beautiful and full of charm on the outside, with a decent amount of on site parking. The reception/bar/restaurant area down stairs is stunningly decorated, and very open and welcoming. We stayed in room 31, up on the second floor, and it was wonderful. The room was large and spacious, with an extremely comfortable extra large double bed. The decor in the room was simple, elegant and cosy. The en-suite was spacious with a large walk in shower (no bath) and, again, was very aesthetically pleasing. The hotel is located in a residential area, and so was relatively quiet, making for a peaceful nights sleep (there is a church nearby that does chime every so often, but that added to the charm, for me). The staff were also very friendly.
