Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BelgiumThe hotel used to have a restaurant, but that's no longer the case (they only serve breakfast -- excellent, by the way). But this didn't cause any issue at all, as there is a very nice Italian restaurant less than 5 minutes drive from there, in Stegen ("pizzeria Cervo").
Comfortable, quite, spotlessly clean, friendly staff, and the beautiful Black Forest hills as a backdrop. It was the second time we stayed at the hotel, and we will definitely go there again.

We had a problem co-ordinating with our family which caused us a delay checking in, but our phone call explaining this was sympathetically dealt with. When we eventually arrived we were greeted warmly and made to feel most welcome. Our apartment was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is located in a beautiful valley, and there are lovely walks from the hotel. When we asked to book a taxi the next morning, our host offered to drive us free of charge to meet up with our family at the nearby town of Kirchzarten, the nearest link with the rail network . The breakfast was magnificent.

Outside of Freiburg, in a quiet little town, the small hotel was welcoming and friendly. Isabel was helpful and cheerful. The room was fine and there was a very good shower. The breakfast was exceptional and there were even vegan options.

IsraelLovely family hotel, in peaceful surroundings of the quite area. Short drive to Frieburg (20min drive by car). We stayed in the 2-bedroom apartment, which was spacious and well-equipped for our family. Hosts were friendly and helpful.

A lovely hotel, really convenient for an overnight stay if travelling to Italy via Lake Constance. The location is splendid, with beautiful walks in the Black Forest right from the hotel. We were greeted so cheerfully and made to feel really welcome. Our room was well furnished and quiet and there was ample parking. Breakfast was very good, with nice extra touches like nuts and fruit.

The breakfast was super ,able to say what we wanted from the menu, an example of what is meant by a good continental breakfast NOT some general international mass of poorly produced food. Lovely breakfast room clean, fresh and light. The rural village location was so quiet and friendly -we loved it. Near by-,3km to a very large village, where there were good restaurants. We went to a traditional hotel and had good German food-excellent service and ambience.(hotel owner gave us good accurate descriptions of a number of places to go . The usual range of westernised world food also available. in other restaurants!!!!
