How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Small Single bed (not even queen) unable to accomodate two travellers. Only shower gel available and no toiletries available. Very small towels (no shower towel). Only electric kettle and glasses available in pantry which can be improved witb some cutlery and microwave owen. No lock on the bathroom.
Pleasant hostel/motel like residence. Reasonable amenities. Nice shower. Would recommend for short stay and single traveller. Coffee machine in the pantry.

The pillow was too big it was nice to lean on but not so comfortable to sleep on. In bathroom, there was no handsoap, they will give you body wash and shampoo, you need to prepare your dental hygiene tools. Water pressure of the shower was good but unfortunately the shower curtain aren’t so functional and when you get oht of the shower there is a lot of water so adjust the water pressure and be careful when you go out of the shower (there was no water drain so you have to clean all the water).
It was really near to the tram station, there was a few good restaurants to grab a bite and supermarket was 10 minutes walk. Room was quite, bed was soft and comfy, shower has good water pressure. There was vending machines for coffee and snacks and some cups and cutleries you can use.

room2: too dark. first floor. rolls on the windows doesn’t work. balcony on he ground. didn’t feel safe. sand on the floor. sink faucet broken. leaking. had to wait long for hot water. for fifty euros a night quite bad. one socket near the bed. you have to choose what to use: fridge/ night lamp/ your phone charger. entry door is weak. nothing about noise isolation.
comfortable bed, big pillows, some ikea pieces of furniture. fast stable Wi-Fi tea/snack room with vending machine

The room was clean, but dusty on lamps, in corners and it smelled dusty. After some airing out - windows could be opened - this went away. The doors and facilities are relatively old, the sink's tiles are vintage - but clean.
The location is good, the staff are friendly and late arrival was possible with advance payment.

From the outside of the residence you could be put off by the shabby appearance.....but once we entered the residence itself we were pleasantly surprised. It would have been nice to have a light outside the front door, as coming back at night it was very dark. The walls were quite thin but the other residents were very quiet but I would recommend earplugs just to be on the safe side....not great to be woken up by someone else's alarm clock going off :-)
I needed a room whilst visiting my son in Frankfurt. The Neuf Residence is very well located with the tram stop 20m from the front door, we were in the centre of town in 10 minutes. The room was comfortable and clean and I could park my car there for 10 euro per day. The check in was very easy and flexible to fit in with my schedule.

I would have given the highest score if only the owner took care of: - The shower and sink: there was no hot water. - The functionality of the sockets: one out of two wasn't working. - The fridge: not working. - The prompt to reply when I wrote and tried to call him to let him know about these issues: I got a reply only after leaving. With a small investment with long term effects and a bit of customer care, his business would be a good one. Such a shame.
It's OK getting what you pay, so expecting a high class accommodation would be stupid. The room was clean and the WC funtional, with soap, showergel and towels. Bed light working. I didn't turn on the TV as I don't usually use it.
