The elevator didn't operate, and we had to carry all luggage 2 floors up. Nobody in the reception after 6pm, nobody for service.

In a good location close to innenstadt, Braunschweig. It has a decent standard but not high quality. If you only use the amenities for a sleep and a breakfast it is OK.

Very dirty. Stains on the floor and ceiling, mold in the shower, dirty mirrors, show doors falling apart. Poor breakfast and available only to 08:30.

We have arrived on Sunday at 17:00. The hotel was locked and there was paper with number where to call. I tried to call the number several times and nobody answer the call. Hotel didnt inform me in advance that it will be closed on sunday. We got into hotel thanks to another hotel quest who was just leaving the hotel and upened for us the locker with the keys (nobody wrote us the code for this locker in advance). The whole hotel is kind of old - lot of the hotel equipment is outdated. We had very soft mattress (extremely).

It is cheap option to stay close to city center.

The mattress was awful and uncomfortable. The sheet was old and had holes in it. There were many fruit flies in our room and in the breakfast room.

The staff were lovely and helpful. The building and room were spacious and elegant. The breakfast was excellent.

There was no staff on site upon check-in, and I didn't get any response to my chat messages. Would have been great if the key box code was communicated in advance. WiFi didn't reach to our room. There we quite a few things that could have been fixed easily (ie. The shower head was clearly running on its last legs) which could have significantly improved the experience. Although the hotel was above our expectations when booking (bargain), and we would definitely stay again (though probably not longer than 2 nights max.), it still felt like a waste of potential.

Price quality this place is kinda hard to beat. Of course the hotel is outdated and lacks luxury. But, what can you expect for this extremely affordable price? Breakfast is more than decent, with fresh and warm oven baked bread, a selection of cheeses and meats, eggs etc etc. It was regularly refilled when finished. Location is great, not much more than a 5 minute walk to the Christmas Market (downtown). The room we had (nr. 25) was clean and very quiet, though a bit smallish. Beds and pillows were fine. .

Lift broken. Not good for a family with a baby. To many steps to get to second floor after long journey. Bathroom very dark. No kettle at all aven on request. Breakfast from 630 till 830. Bit early finish. When we get for breakfast at 8 and when we looked at it we decide we are not hungry. Food looked disgusting. Like left overs from last night. Not recommend this place at all. Never again.

Didn't like the reception. You have to phone to register. That's an immediate sign of distrust. You are assigned a room that you cannot change. The landlord says it's 30 km away. First of all, the lift is out of order because it is being repaired. No notice was given when the room was booked. Climbing steep, uncomfortable stairs with heavy suitcases is a real hassle. The internet quality is tragic. It didn't work in the bathroom. Need to find a place near the reception. The room is dirty, full of dust, especially behind the folding bed. Bathroom and toilet facilities are barely holding on, or have fallen off. The TV has a broken leg, barely holding on, we were afraid it would break. Sleeping three in one bed because of the dust, my daughter developed a coughing fit. The owner did not answer the phone - he did not pick up The night was tragic, we had no sleep. There was no air conditioning. Breakfast was a bit better than we expected, but the interesting thing is that the coffee machine works and doesn't work. Thousands of us, thousands of children, with an ineffective improvised appliance. The owner has not responded to a complaint. Booking did not respond to the complaint and did not help. I am disappointed with all of Booking's customer support in this case and the lack of control and fraud of the hotel owners. Hotels that do not meet basic hygiene conditions should be deleted and reported to the special hygiene services.

Fatigue and frustration prevented us from thinking about the good things in the hotel, about the night under the roof and not outside in the rain, even though we might have been rested, like the young people enjoying the loud squares.

The hotel building is wet and smells. My reservation was somehow ignored and the hotel was locked at 7pm. No one answered my phone until 8.30pm. Then reception called me back then and helped me get the keys from the wall lock.

The rooms are furnished very traditionally so are the mattresses.

I liked everything about the hotel and it's staff.

The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful with all my questions and requests. I even forgot my phone charger and the hotel staff gave me one, which I was allowed to keep. Very grateful about it! The breakfast was basic, but tasty, a pleasant surprise was the good coffee. Hotel's location is just perfect, about 5 minutes walk from all the restaurants, coffee shops and sightseeing attractions in the city. I'd recommend the hotel to everyone who's travelling to Brunswick.

a huge omission: in advance, no one considered it necessary to inform me (anywhere, by email, or to my personal booking account) that the staff would not be on the spot and tell me how to get the keys from the box at the entrance. I arrived before 22 o'clock, but there was no one. It's good that I have a European SIM card and I managed to get through. And what would happen if a person did not come from Europe and could not call?
