How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Pillows could have more volume, but that is generally comman in Hotels. Too thin and small.
Fancy douche, but still leaking some water on the floor. Breakfast ok with all what is needed. Friendly Woman to help with ham and eggs Cooking.

Noise from the airconditioning vent. Which ok with earplugs but even then audible. Meaning it was more than 35Db. From 06:20 in the morning we could hear thumping noises from outside the room and I couldnt sleep after that. As if someone was moving furniture.
Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Steam shower was nice.

Felt impersonal. The only interaction with staff was with the cook at breakfast. It was very annoying that one of the bedroom lights was operated by a sensor, which was activated if you got out of bed in the night.

The Gardenie in front of the main door of the room. 😅 It hinders the way to the room, must fit in body size to get in the room

Shower was a little bit too technical for us. Shower itself was good but the extra stuff was too complicated.
Free parking. The room was good and clean. Air condition was great. Cold drinks sold in the lobby was great.

Remote location only accesible by car. Bed/matress is not the most comfy, but okay.
Great hotel in terms of what you get for the price if you are travelling in Schwarzwald/Freiburg area. Rooms are modern as shown in the photos. The breakfast is very good for a 3-star hotel.

The parking is not that big, and it is not clear if street parking is allowed. Fairly distant from Friburg. Not a problem in my case, but if you are looking for something more central, this is not the hotel for you.
An hotel right outside Friburg. Fairly close to the Highway, but still decentralized to not "feel" it. The hotel is clean and new, the staff is efficient and cordial. The breakfast is good (even if more for people doing a "salty" breakfast). Nearby there a few option for eating a dinner (we tried the pizzeria that is about 150 meters far).

Bed was quite hard. The ventilation systems make quite some noise.
Very friendly personnel! The room was small but had everything you need and was great! Special shout out to the breakfast lady who made lovely scrambled eggs!

You'll need to drive around 10-15 mins to Freiburg town
It's value for money. We got a suite which can house up to 6 pax. The cost was only €180

No elevator so need to carry the luggage up the stairs Urban view
We liked the rooms, specially the apartment with 3 bedrooms and a kitchen and dining area. The hotel was 20 minutes from Freiburg, 30 minutes from Europa park/Rulantica and close to other places The place was clean, friendly staff Pizza place 2 minutes walking distance

As we were travellers passing through Lumi was perfect for us. Ultra modern, mostly unmanned but with access to drinks and a free to use room with tea and coffee making facilities. Our short stay was also made more pleasant by the lovely lady who served us breakfast.

The rooms could be bigger for this price. Check-in and check-out times are somewhat inconvenient, but there is an option for self-checkout though.
