How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

the bathroom had a sliding door, which looks really nice, but was not very practicle. however, this is really a minor issue.
very confy room with everything you needed. Nearby the highway so great for a stop along the way. Does require a car, there does not seem to be much in the area. But great place to sleep.

property looks like brand new construction, quality appliances and everything was brand new and comfy. location is great as it is less then a minute from A2 exit and lots of shops near by.

I was ripped off. I was unable to get into a room and in the end I have not got into it, spent 1 hour and 30 minutes in front of the hotel which obviously has no reception trying to reach somebody on their phone lines and even EMERGENCY phone lines. None of them were responding. NONE! The problem was that my bank for some reason rejected the transaction because it has been detected as suspicious. After I realized that I immediately unblocked the transaction in my banking app so the money could have been taken from my account - NO LUCK! There was no way I could redo that transaction - no button on their site, no button in booking.com app, no link in e-mails! And because of that I was unable to obtain a PIN number for the door so - I WAS UNABLE TO GET INTO THE ROOM. After that I contacted booking.com directly for the first time on their hotline - no luck either! The hotline guy could not do anything. He just said, after almost 30 or 40 minutes, that he will try to cancel this reservation even though it was non refundable. After that I got a message that I my cancelation has been rejected and I will have to pay anyway! THAT. IS. A JOKE! I have to pay for a room that I even haven't seen, lost almost two hours of my life during my trip for Christmas as additionally I had to find my self another place to stay and get there. I am booking hotels with booking.com I guess for more than 10 years and something like this never happened to me. I will never use receptionless hotels ever again.

We had a stay at MDG Hotel for just one night, during our tour to Netherlands from Poland. In the middle of the night the smoking alarm went off for a random reason, while we were sleeping (around 00:00), and stopped RINGING after a minute or so. That was terrible to wake up not knowing what is happening, I could only imagine that someone couldn't deal with nicotine addiction ;) We had no rest at all and received no information about what's happening. Although the room and bathroom were really nice, cozy and clean, it was easy to hear what's happening in the room above us. Screams, loud conversations, weird noises and laughter after the alarm made it impossible for me to continue sleeping at night. I don't want to come back here anymore and now I know that a hotel without a 24-hour front desk has no right to function well. Even the attractive price won't rehabilitate the nightmare we experienced. We paid for a rest after the tour, an opportunity for a peaceful night's sleep, not for a howling session on the floor above and a random alarm going off. Unfortunately this time our stay can't be perceived even as OK. It was the first and probably last one. - smoke detector rings randomly (or not? We have no idea what was that) in the middle of the night and it would wake up even the dead ones, thin walls, so you can hear when someone's not eager to follow the rules and be quiet after 10 PM, no info of what's happening while the alarm goes off, no way to make loud people stop partying at 1 AM because there's no security, front desk etc.
+ clean rooms, comfortable beds, fridge inside, beautiful wide windows, easy access to the room, parking in front of the entrance

Great hotel if you are planning to stop during your journey. Just next to the highway, easy to access and you can check in anytime as everything is automatised. Exactly what we needed on the way home for Christmas.
