How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I had to unplug the coffee machine to find an socket to plug in my phone and iPads for charging. The desk socket seemed not to work.
Good location and friendly safe. Also a nice breakfast.

Not the most modern hotel in terms of design but that was not really the point of our 1-night-stay
We were there for a wedding, localisation was perfect for us Breakfast had everything (eggs, pancakes, yaourt, cereals, ...) Service was very nice Toilets in the lobby were big and clean

Internet to improve as well as access control to parking areas - make sure multi entry tickets are working. On the other hand the receptionists were helpfully resolving minor difficulties in this field

It was quite cold in room.
Really good hotel. Night shift manager at hotel was really great, he took care of everything, was really interested in guests and solving their problems, very polite and great person to communicate with.

I didn't like how they served the breakfast. I think it was due to the Covid, but still this should have been done so much better. First of all the staff struggled to understand English, so we already had a language barrier. The breakfast was not the typical Hotel type breakfast (I guess Covid regulations). They told me that they have multiple things and I just have to ask for them. Due to the language barrier, they couldn't really explain what are my options and there was no list or something to choose from so it made it a bit weird and difficult to get something for breakfast. I ended up with some orange juice and a coffee that I could serve for myself. I think they should make a list or a menu so at least people can see what they can choose from.
Was an okay stay. Nothing that stands out. Probably a one-timer I don't think I will ever make a second visit to this stay.

When we arrived we were given a ticket to leave the parking lot. We weren't told that parking wasn't free, so that was a surprise at check-out (it's not super expensive though).
The room was clean and even though the hotel is on a busy street, the room was very quiet, which was great. The bathroom was very spacious. Staff was friendly.

I think that the value for money is just not justified in this Hotel. Even though I had one of the nicest rooms, it smelled like cigarette smoke and in the morning I woke up to the smell of the breakfast buffets. I understand that the building is old but for this price it should not be outdated. Several lamps in the room did not work, as in the bathroom. I also understand, that prices went up as there was the ProWine in Düsseldorf, and even tough I appreciate the charm that comes with older buildings - It should not come at the cost of comfort and cleanliness when paying a higher price.
I liked, that the staff was very friendly and tried to help wherever possible.

Wish I could of stayed longer
Very nice welcome when arrived and good explanation. The rooms were great for the value and free mini bar. Food was excellent and all staff where lovely
