The key card system is a bit rubbish. Firstly the entry box keypad is far far too high up for less tall people. I am tall so had no problem but my wife is not and would have had a serious problem gaining entry without me. I fear for someone shorter arriving in the evening. There are 4 electronic keys for a reason - they discharge themselves and the readers on doors can be unreliable. Follow all the instructions to keep the cards separate from other bank cards (and your phone) and you'll largely be okay but two of our cards didn't work right out of the collection box. Our room door was often temperamental with two key cards and wouldn't always open. You had to experiment with how you put it in the lock, but not for every card. When I politely and neutrally approached the man on reception he delivered the 'that's very strange' and 'I did those myself' speech to me to make it clear it was completely my fault, which it obviously wasn't because I had empirically tested 4 separate keys after following the instructions to the letter... So that was a bit unnecessarily confrontational.

Clean and comfortable room. We liked the style even though it is from another era. Location is excellent.

Great location next to a subway station and shot walk to the water front and docks area. The room mess big enough for two of us and staff were friendly and helpful. Check in and check out was very easy.

Perfect location for exploring the centre of Hamburg, the tube stop is just a minute from the hotel. The rooms were large and ours were very quiet as they gave on to the court yard. The hotel is located on the second floor which made it feel very safe, you cannot just wander in. Although, there was no breakfast, very nice tea and coffee were served at the reception plus really yummy butter croissants, for free. I would definitely stay there again. Very friendly recption.

Unfortunately the new receptionist forgot to leave us the code for the second booked room, so we had to book another hotel. Host apologized and returned our money without any hesitations.

Take note of the email you receive in advance so you know what to do if you arrive in the evening. Don't leave it too late for getting a croissant. Location is just fantastic for seeing beautiful Hamburg. No noise from the street below, windows great. And shutters to help sleep too!

We were not sent the Pin code for the self check-in and had to call up the sister hotel a couple of times to get the information. The lighting of the apartment was not so great, its a very basic apartment with not much additional facilities. No iron board, no electric kettle and no kitchenette.

The apartment is located in a great location, around 10-15 mins walk from the major tourist locations. The apartment has good value for money, self check-in facility was available. There was no breakfast service offered but coffee/tea was available in the morning. There was no proper cupboard, just a small closet for keeping your clothes which was kind of sufficient.

Rooms with a street view is extremely noisy. We would hear all the cars passing by. Better to pay extra to stay on the other side of the hotel, which I assume is less noisy.

The interior design gives a feeling of being in a much older building. The shower head was fixed to the shower for some reason, which made showering difficult and wasn't super practical. The mattress was two single mattresses put together rather than one double mattress. Missed having an overhead light rather than 2 floor lamps in each corner. The isolation is not so good, you can hear quite some traffic noise from the street.

Great location very close to U stop and a quick Walk from the centre. The room was comfortable despite the bed being two single mattresses put together, and clean. Loved the contacless check in and check out process. The room had a mini fridge. Glasses were provided both in the room and the bathroom. The window blinds blocked out a lot of light, especially together with curtains.

Excellent location. Easy to find (was opposite a train stop) very central. Rooms cosy and warm and beds were very comfortable! Staff very helpful and friendly. Particularly when Hamburg was hit by a lightning rail strike they went over and beyond helping plan our journey back to the airport. Nice touch having complimentary coffee and croissants from 7am to 10am. Easy access to room keys via key code (we arrived at 6pm) and instructions beforehand were timely and clear.

If you have sensitive sleep, ask for a room that doesn't face the main street. The fire station is very close and at night you hear firefighter's transport returning. We didn't have a problem, because we just immediately fall back asleep when we wake up, but if I was with a small kid I would kindly ask for another room.

Location is just top, right next to S bahn and many attractions. Very friendly staff and clean facilities. Check in out system very well-thought-out. They also offered very good coffee and pastry in the morning, though it even wasn't mentioned in our reservation. You can feel how much care people put in making this hotel a good place for a stay.
