Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere is no 'quiet side' to the hotel. I've stayed on all three sides of the hotel. There's a busy road on the east side, a petrol station with a loud air conditioneron to the north, and towards the parking lot there's some kind of air conditioner unit that cycles on an off every two minutes. It would create steady white noise if it just stayed on, but it doesn't. So forget sleeping with the window open for fresh air. Parking is limited -- we had to park on the street a block away every time. When the breakfast area is crowded the 'jaunty' angle of the furniture creates bottlenecks, frustrating the easy movement of humans around the area. A lot of the trendy design features are form-before-function: they look cool at the sacrifice of utility.
Good cocktails, good breakfast. The motion-sensor that activates the under-bed lighting really helps when one needs to go to the WC in the dark. Staff are multi-lingual and friendly. Furniture in the lobby/bar area is trendy and comfortable. Beds are quite comfortable. With the windows closed the rooms are very quiet.

I liked free parking and I was lucky to receive parking space. It’s good located hotel so it was busy. I arrived late night, the guy from front desk met me very welcoming and helped me with luggage. Comfortable bed, nice water pressure in a shower. It was quite and peaceful to sleep. That’s all what you need travelling long by car. Unfortunately didn’t tried breakfast as was leaving early.

GermanyParking space is insufficient. And the air conditioning has a problem - either did not work ("error") or switched itself on during the night (I woke up wondering why it was so cold). I stayed twice at this Moxy within one week, for several nights, and although I notified the issue the first time it was still the same when I returned.
Modern hotel. Good beds, bathroom with good lighting and space to put things, electrical sockets where needed.

GermanyOur room overlooked the back side of a petrol station whose air-conditioner ran nonstop, precluding leaving the window open for fresh air. This orientation prbably affects a half dozen rooms, so make sure to request your room carefully.
Cool decor, friendly bilingual staff, tasty cocktails, GREAT room lighting with motion-activated under-the-bed lights for those late-night trips to the loo, high-quality comfy living-room-quality furniture in the lobby/public areas

BelgiumThe beds had a light under them with a motion sensor which means they would turn on every time you would move in your bed. Not recommended for light sleepers sensitive to light. The room didn’t have a phone as well so I had to go to the reception in pyjamas to ask if they could be turned off and the receptionist told me it wasn’t possible, and they couldn’t provide a sleeping mask either unfortunately. The receptionist’s English was also very poor which surprises me for a hotel branch. A last remark is that the bathroom doesn’t really have a closing door which does not provide much privacy and can be uncomfortable if travelling with friend or colleague, as was the case for me.
Very clean and modern hotel, free parking available and all necessities in the room. Very comfortable beds as well and great accessibility.

BelgiumIf you are looking for something more central to Karlsruhe, this isn't for you, but it's ideal if you have your own transport. Automatic lighting under the bed can be a bit irritating if the bedsheets activate it.
Only stopped one night during our travels, but the hotel is very nice. Staff were very pleasant and even offer a welcome drink on arrival. The rooms are modern, huge TV, and clean. Breakfast is very decent with a large choice of continental and cooked on offer.

GermanyJust one small detail which can easily be fixed: There are some lights under the bed and they are switched on via movement sensors also placed somewhere under the bed. These sensors are very sensitive you any movements even if it was from the sheets dropping little down from the bed.. so i ended up having these lights constantly on and off as i move while sleeping.
Beautiful well thought environment at the lobby and the room has a nice feeling to it

DenmarkThe bed is not super comfortable as I feel the bed is not really horizontal, as my foot is a bit higher than my head, but just a little bit. The sound separation is not really good.
