Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Romania- Not particularly helpful staff - The reception staff asked us whether we would require room cleaning the second day because, if not, we would get 2 vouchers for drinks at the hotel bar. We decided against room cleaning, and the staff advised us that we only needed to leave the 'do not disturb' sign on the door handle of the room. We did this, and after a stroll through the city, we went in for an afternoon nap. Upon a short knock, leaving no time for reaction, however, the hotel staff entered the room anyway. Seeing that we were half-naked, they left the room. When confronting the reception about this unacceptable event, they turned it against us, saying that the 'do not disturb' sign only prevented the cleaning staff to enter, but not the staff that refills the minibars. The minibar had been empty to begin with. The staff did not really acknowledge their own fault and did not come forward to try to compensate the displeasure in any way.

United KingdomI booked a courtyard room only to fine we were on the street side of the hotel which dies not have a courtyard . Traffic noise even on the 5 th floor bad. Common parts chairs grubby , spa closed and the restaurant is more like a caf.
Beds were comfortable , towels and bed linen excellent .

BahrainWhen we arrived, I went inside searching for someone to help me with the luggage. Unfortunately, they weren't as professional as expected and made me feel that I am asking for too much, while in fact this is one of the services that all hotels worldwide provide. Once the luggage was inside the hotel, they specifically told me "to keep an eye on the luggage" because anyone can enter the hotel and take them. I told them that this wasn't acceptable as we should feel safe inside the hotel, but they argued by saying "this is a public area and anyone can come in".

PhilippinesThe front desk personnel should have been more friendly and accommodating to our needs. The housekeeping also walked into the room while I was dressing and couldnt wait until I left the room to clean up. They didn't even offer to help bring my suitcases down.
Room was comfortable and location walking distant to Zeil and to Romer to the city centre.
