How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Breakfast was good but compared to other hotels a little limited (but still sufficient). Did think e19 is too steep a price for what you get.
The location, direct opposite of the trains station, was great. There was a cheap DB-parking nearby. The hotel looked up-to-date and fresh. Also the games in the lobby for our son where a great plus.

There was a delay in our checking in, due to the room not being ready on time. The stuff was helpful, but there was no clear communication, so their efforts actually delayed us even more.
New, modern and clean. The room was small, but a good design made it feel spacious.

Loved the town and proximity to the station. The staff were very helpful - especially when our trains were cancelled and we had to book a flight back to England.

Room not ready at promised time. The room is lacking amenities (like small fridge, coffee maker etc). Breakfast is not included in the cost and must be paid separately.
Location is good, fair size of room, cleaning in order. Very friendly staff. Very quiet although facing busy street.

The room was rather hot (it was an unusually warm day) and there was some noise during the evening from the bus station when I opened the window. But it was quieter during the night.
Great location within easy walk of the city and right at the train and bus stations. I received a friendly welcome and the check in was quick and easy. Breakfast was good. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Nothing major. The bedroom was a bit small - we had a standard double room and it was hard to open the bathroom door because it was so close to the wardrobe rail.
Nice decor/design, it all felt clean and modern. The breakfast was brilliant - great and varied options in the buffet. Beds very comfy! Hotel is in a good location literally right in front of the main train station and bus station, and it's about 15-20 minute walk into the old town of Lübeck. Hotel staff were very friendly and spoke both English and German. We asked for a late check out and it was €15 for 2 extra hours.

We booked a room for three persoons, but is was in fact a Room size for two persons with a sleeping bench as a third bed. The sleeping bed was very hard en uncomfortable. The room was very small for three persons with all the luggage stalled out. The room was too expensive for the size en comfort .

Even though we were on the top floor we were bothered by charcoal smell/smoke afternoon and evening from the grill bar on the ground level.
Great breakfast. We stayed 4 nights. The weather was not good, and we stayed in the room more than usual, which was not a problem, because of the the room size and very comfortable facilities.

Newly renovated spacious room. Bathroom a little small, but clean , renovated. Very quiet although located just opposite railway and bus station. 8 min walk to old town. Great location .

Not ideal but still quite ok parking possibilities a couple of hundred meters from the hotel. Many rooms are in a part of the building that's not directly connected to the reception and breakfast hall, so you need to go out on the street and walk 30-40 m around the corner to go from these rooms to reception or breakfast, but not a big deal.
Very nice, newly restyled / refurbished hotel, large and tastefully furnished rooms with super comfy beds, fabulous breakfast. Central location.
