Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe asked if it was possible to store our bags somewhere, the staff said to leave them in front of the heater and she would bring them into to the office - later we found them still sitting out by the heater, so that was a bit off-putting (also since the staff are usually in the back office area, with no view of the luggage/heaters) When they asked if we were interested in the sauna and I said yes, I would have appreciated the follow-up offer immediately of "You can borrow towels and robes for a 20 euro deposit" - it is stated slightly differently in the printed pamphlet in the room (the deposit/return of money for return of device was stated more clearly in regards to a DVD player), but after asking was relieved to find I would get the money back.
Loved that dogs were so welcomed- they offer a dog bed, blanket, towel and food/water bowls free of charge (the dog stay cost 12 euro per day extra). Bed was comfortable, TV was sizeable and had easy access to the HDMI ports- WiFi was also quite speedy, enough that we were able to stream some shows. The 3 saunas were also nice (if a bit of a maze to get to), not too overwhelming - a perfect amount for an hour or so relaxation after long day hikes! It would be cool if it were open more during the day (current operating times are 3 pm - 10 pm) The breakfast at Strandluecke had a large variety, very nice staff, everything was delicious! The offer also varied slightly from day to day. Their dinner though is also INCREDIBLE, definitely worth a visit.

UkraineCoffee at breakfast was really veeery strong. Unfortunately when i wanted to make Latte, i couldn't drink it... While it was extra strong and bitter like someone heartless burned it. So would excellent to have variety for people who don't drink espresso and don't like bitter burned coffee 🙏🏻 Would be also gut to have some vegetarian/vegan salads. Unfortunately during a week staying in this hotel, i didn't tried any salad except chopped tomatoes and cucumber on a plates. Also didn't like bed. For my back it was too soft and pillows seems really old and half lye empty so you almost like sleeping without any pillow and your neck hurts at morning. Please change pillows for new one at least. Its very important. Also in room was only one bottle of water by cosmic price.... Really? 4 stars hotel with non free drinking water? Was this only in Egypt and Tunisia 🤷🏻♀️ that's pretty weird. So if you coming in this hotel at evening or late daytime (because markets open to 18:00) don't forget to take water with yourself otherwise one small bottle of cosmic price water waits for you in double room for two adults. And the last one but not the last important. Room had not pleasant smell and after cleaning also in hotel room stayed pretty weird smell of old lady or old dirty clothes. So always needed to open windows widely. Don't know what exactly was a reason of this smell, washing things for cleaning or smth else. But smell was pretty stark after cleaning and wet floor. So would be great to find this reason and change for some better smell) room was 112 (at least hope not all rooms has this smell)
Breakfasts was different, tasty, and clean served. Stuff was very frendly and understanding. Also had kitchen in my room, and it was great completed. Bravo!

GermanyNothing really particular. Only thing is; we learnt that we need to pay 12€ per night for the dog when i called the hotel to ask for something. Nothing stated anywhere within booking or in the emails. Other than this all was great.
Overall the facility provided exactly what it offers. Perfect location with a better price then the hotels around. Stayed with our dog as well, all was good.

SlovakiaThe cleanliness of rooms could be better. There was sand on the floor since we got there. Beds are a bit squeaky. The value for money isn't great. But that's the case for the whole area I guess. Prices are just insane.
The hotel is located at the beach, with direct access just out back (the entrance is from the street). It is somewhere in the middle of the "holiday" part of the town. Main street with shops is just a couple of minutes away, the Strandpromenade offers a wide variety of bars and restaurants. Rooms are spacious and fully equipped (we had a junior suite which is essentially a fully-furnished two-bedroom apartment). Although there's no A/C the temperature was ok (when the outside temperature goes above 30C it might be a bit hot). Bed was quite big and comfortable. Bathroom is quite big and provides everything you need. Breakfast was excellent (we had it included, otherwise it costs 18.50 EUR per person). Wide variety of everything. If you're vegetarian / vegan, you might struggle a bit. Especially if you stay for longer. Overall the hotel is pretty good and I would recommend it, BUT (read below...).

GermanyThey could have provided detailed instructions on the sauna. (E.g. You need to take coins to use lockers, drinking water and body wash are in the sauna, there is only one changing room ..etc. I had to go back and forth between the sauna and my room because of this.) They lend towels and bath robes with a deposit at the reception, which I find a bit inconvenient.
Perfect location by the beach, friendly staff, fabulous breakfast with different selections everyday, clean room and a sauna facility.

Germany1. Dog. We came with the dog. During the check-in the receptionist welcomed our dog, explained everything how we can behave with the dog - go everywhere in the facilities and really nicely promoted how they are pet friendly. But during check-out the other person on reception gave us a “speech” of how they didn’t know that we have a dog and we had to inform them while booking about the dog. !!! It was not stated anywhere on booking.com, neither in the comms from them about this!!! When I mentioned this, this person decided to teach me that in every hotel in the world I have to inform about the dog in advance. Which is not customer friendly and just not true. Why this person decided she knows the rules of every hotel ever. It is not the first time I travel with my dog and I don’t mind paying a fee for the dog, of course I do it everywhere. I just don’t admire the treatment from the hotel like this. We have been checked-in and the receptionist could make a note that we are with the dog. Why what is in there system now has to be my problem and I need this “surprise” at the end of my trip. That apparently, I did something wrong. Which was 1) not explicitly asked 2) could be managed and discussed during the check-in.
The apartment comes exactly as on the pictures. Well equipped. Nothing special, but all in places.

GermanyWe had to wait 30 minutes to check out and the room was very hot.
Location was excellent, right by the beach. The breakfast had good offerings as well. Our suite had the span of the entire room, with a beautiful view. Staff were friendly and provided us with parking. We brought our dog with us and he had a great time.

GermanyWell the weather has been a bit unpredictable, but that's it. Binz is a small but quiet place to stay. Not much to do except to relax and eat fish.
We liked the sauna the most. Breakfast was perfect, it had switching buffet items. Also dinner was really good. The hotel is modern but still cozy and is very central in Binz, right at the waterfront.
