Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChileThere's no AC in the rooms. Toiletries aren't great. If you leave the room after noon, there's no cleaning service.
Perfect location at the center of Regensburg. Pretty, clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast is nice.

Our first floor room was in the hotel annex (Kleines House) a short walk from the main hotel and restaurant. The room was large and comfortable and tastefully furnished. The separate bathroom was spacious and well equipped with lots of hot water. Our quiet room had a pleasant outlook and was adjacent to a common sitting area with access to a large balcony - a great spot for reading and relaxing outside of your own room. Breakfast was served in the main hotel's restaurant - a generous continental breakfast of breads, cheese and ham, and juice/coffee/tea. Centrally located in the old town and easy walking to the Danube and local attractions.

United StatesLike many older hotels , this has no air conditioning. This means you have to leave the windows open when it is warm. There is a substantial amount of noise from people in the street, especially weekends. The bed was too soft but that is just a personal preference.
Excellent central location. Room was large and clean. nice bathroom

Australiathere was no elevator to take bags up, only stairs. the Breakfast was minimal, and the staff were busy and not attentive. the small hotel was not easy to find with no reception area. We had to find the bigger hotel before we could get the key to the smaller accommodation. The accommodation was confusing and not easy to navigate with luggage.
the room was quiet and art deco with a good sized bathroom.

GermanyThe heating was not working, and the temperature was really low, causing me a cold, that will be treated in the next days. The workers were not polite on the check in and check out. The breakfast at the restaurant serves old food. The waiter at the restaurant was unprepared to deal with humans.
The decor of the room.

United StatesAlthough the hotel indicates that it has an elevator—and indeed the hotel does—the annex, Kleines Haus, lacks an elevator. I wish that had been made clear because humping my luggage up 2 long, treacherous flights was exhausting. The room, however, was nice but lacked air conditioning and heating. Breakfast was meager: lots of bread a commutative postage stamp on quiche, coffee by the cup and a long time coming.
The room was lovely in a shabby chic sort of way. Both bedroom and bath were spacious. BUT the Kleines Haus lacks an elevator. I’m a fit 75 year old and humping my luggage up 2 flights of stairs was exhausting.

GermanyThe carpark is quite far away. You need to get the key and have breakfast in a different location nearby. It is an old building and our sitting area in our floor common area (1st floor) gives me the creep. Our picture in our room didn't help. Two lady with very white skin and one with tears. I am a very sensitive and timid person and felt very uncomfortable. However, no strange things happen. I slept very well. My husband loved the room and although didn't particularly like the painting but was ok with it. It did see the two other room on the front are bright and beautifully decorated. It didn't give me any strange feeling. Maybe if you are sensitive like me, go for the front rooms but it could be a bit noisier in the summer as there are tables right underneath it.
The location is brilliant. It is in the middle of the beautiful historical town with lots of shops and restaurants. No cars are allowed. We asked for a quiet room so our room is at the back so it is very quiet and a bit dark. The room is big and clean. Breakfast is very good. Fresh ingredients.
