Quite a few stairs and I needed a bottle opener which I think should be in the room for a 4 star hotel and no could help as only one bottle opener in the bar and restaurant

The staff was a complete mixed bag Cristian and Sophie were amazing, thank you and the others seemed a little grumpy. Cristian helped me with my car then started singing opera with the most incredible voice, complete highlight. He is amazing and so helpful :)

nothing as the hotel fit the purpose of what I needed. I did not use any of the other hotel facilities as I ate out due to the location being near the cafe's, restaurants and bars.

Needed a hotel room that was clean and functional, the room size was large with a large bathroom which contained a bath with a rain shower, spa soaps, body scrubs, body creams and a vanity kit. There was plenty of wardrobe space, desk, other furniture and mini bar with coffee machine, bathrobes and slippers. The decor of the room was very traditional (which although I prefer super modern) the room was great and bed was very comfortable. This hotel is situated next to the main hotel building, so it give the feel of staying in an apartment rather than a hotel, very quiet.

The room is large and comfortable, but in an old building. Floors make noice when walking, as does the small closet.

Some misunderstanding about bathrobe and slippers, which were not in the room. Finally I did get the bathrobe, but not the slippers. But concierge was nice enough to give me a bottle of wine as a present. I still don’t know how the shower in this hotel works. May be it was broken. Had to take a bath😀

Room was gorgeous,  very spacious (3 different tables in the room). Free port. Very cool toiletries. Arguably the closest hotel to the opera, if you plan a visit.

Check-in is in another building which you have to pass from outside. The bar was not opened until 23:30 on Christmas as mentioned on the board in front of check-in desk.

central location, 5 min by walk to Staatsoper. The size of the room and also the bed were satisfactory. Room decoration and treats were lovely.

I wasn't aware that check-in and the breakfast was at the sister hotel. Perhaps I missed that in the confirmation email so possibly my fault. Other than that, absolutely nothing.

Breakfast was great. Superb selection of food and very helpful staff. It was unusual that we had to leave the suite and walk to the breakfast room located in the sister hotel. This took no time at all as it was next door so it wasn't far. We enjoyed the short walk, even in the rain/drizzle for some fresh air! We didn't mind it all all but it was unusual and might not suit some people.

The check in was slightly confusing (but it was properly explained in the email that I didn't read properly...) Being on the road side, there was a fair bit of road noise from cars, emergency vehicles, and the occasional jolly German. While the double glazed windows blocked out most of the noise, there was still some coming through. Unfortunately, due to the air-conditioning being locked on heating, we had to choose between a noisy night or fresh air. That was our only major complaint, but since we only stayed two nights and the room itself was marvelous it wasn't much more than a small blemish on our experience.

The staff was delightful, and the room (suite) we booked was actually much larger than we anticipated. The location was great, just around the corner from the inner Alster and about 30 minute walking distance from most attractions. There's also an U-bahn just around the corner. We will happily return the next time Hamburg is on our travel plans.

I was extremely welcomed in my arrival. the hotel clerk made had the attention of making changes in the reservations so that I would not have to wait for a room. to my surprise (very positive!) I was upgraded and given a FANTASTIC SUITE!

Dated nature of room, lack of welcoming and modern lobby and very limited breakfast offering.

This is sadly in no way a five star hotel, in spite of its description online. The rooms are dated, the lobby is very underwhelming and rooms are spread across multiple buildings that are not connected.

suites with tourist class treatment be warned! one rents out a suite. without mentioning that it belongs to the Baselerhof hotel. even without cancellation. so pay immediately, no refund!!!! Only after booking do you receive an email informing you that breakfast and check-in are done via the neighbors at a boring and mass-tourist hotel. Breakfast is not a party and go outside to have breakfast through the rain. the so-called suite is fine but not worth 240 euros per night. very disappointing all this way of receiving guests, without mentioning that you are staying at Baselerhof. because with that knowledge I would never have booked! Towels were not changed and the door chip card needs to be updated daily . we were standing in front of a closed door!

previously i got a welcome drink and fruits, but this time none! you have to get out of the hotel and walk to another hotel to have your breakfast! in minus degrees it's not fun! and they offer no room servie! not recommended for business trips

The double bed was really two singles with a large mattress … so there was a hard bump in the middle which is not what couples want. The building was separate from the lobby which was 2 doors down, giving it a feeling of not really being in a hotel. The view was very dull. The cleaning lady just opened the door on us while in bed which was not good.

Nice room and bathroom. Very quiet. Location is pretty good. Good tea and coffee facilities. At check in the man carried our suitcase for us.

It's a quirky hotel, but everyone has said that. For the price of a box room elsewhere, I got a suite with a living room in what were formerly lawyers' offices. I'd go again - but normally travel with my family and there's a no children policy. Breakfast was better than expected - but not as good as the Movenpick where I stayed the following night....in a box.

1- there is no staff to carry the luggage. 2- we must carry our luggage throw so many different stairs (may be 5-6 ) each have between 4-6 steps and that wasn’t clear in the booking site, it’s not suit handicap at all . 3- the reception in other building.
