Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Saudi ArabiaOne of the lights in the room was broken (turning off and on like a horror movie, some scratches on the bathroom door that it seems that someone punched the door, no instructions on how to set password in safety deposit box in the room. Parking door has to be opened manually. The fridge is a bit dirty. Some of the tools in the bathrooms are bad quality and need to be replaced such as lid of bathroom trash can and lid of trash bags. Those lids keep falling whenever I use them. Booking.com says the hotel is 4 star but it has the vibe of 3 star hotel.
Hotel was good for the price for a solo traveler. Hotel was quiet, room was clean and staff were professional and friendly. The building looks old but remodeled. Bed was clean and comfy

United StatesThe area where the hotel is located is not nice (but the river walk two blocks away is nice). We did not feel unsafe, though. The walk from the station was a bit longer than expected. Also, other than bus, there's no other public transportation close. Pillows were the worst ever, zero support. Had some lights not working in my room and told them if they could fix them, and they did not during our stay. The AC controller did not allow to raise the temperature (was not a major issue but the room got a bit too cold).
Rooms are huge for European standards, and the beds are queen size, which also is very uncommon.

NetherlandsThe location, just outside the city centre, is a bit shabby. Having said so, the front desk manager was pro-active in recommending the most pleasant walking route to the centre, via the Main river banks.

The person at the desk was very nice. The bed was really comfortable. Great shower and well located. Breakfast pretty solid. Would love more fruit. Would definitely stay again.
