How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We paid extra for a better room yet we could not spend the first night in it as there was some sort of mix up.
Great selection to choose from for breakfast and everything was freshly prepared. The room was very spacious.

Good Breakfast, high quality with a lot of options. It's quite expensive. It would be better a different proposal only continental Breakfast or all inclusive like now at two different price.
It's our second time at Pestana hotel in Berlin. Good position, easy to reach. Good connection with transportation. Safe area.

The A/C cut off in the middle of the night, wasn't a huge issue but made it slightly uncomfortable.
Great location within walking distance to all the sites of Berlin.(If you're used to long days of walking, we covered 15 KM in one day)The staff was super friendly and gave us a great recommendation for reasonably priced parking nearby. The trip happened to occur on my birthday and they sent up a bottle of wine free of charge. Being near the Tiergarten opens up a ton of running routes for those that like to go for a nice long run in new places.

While the facilities, spread of the breakfast buffet, the pool, etc and the cleanliness in the room were exceptional, the only place we felt they could improve is the quality of the beds. While we asked for a double bed, we got 2 single beds put together, it made the first night very uncomfortable, but the team happily moved us to a room with a double bed the next morning. The beds are a little noisy and hence any movement, getting up, etc is quite loud (as the room is totally silent in the night). Not saying for a moment that it wasnt comfortable, but we didnt get the best sleep possible.
The staff at the hotel are very helpful. The breakfast buffet spread is lovely. The hotel is very centrally located and it allowed us to walk to areas like the zoo, the shopping centre, the transport hub, etc. Staying here, you are very close to the Tiergarten which is fabulous.

The lobby - always first impression- is unattractive with vending machines and cheep looking furniture . Curtains cover the breakfast room which is the most attractive public area.
The breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful. It was a good walk to get to the Zoo area. The bedroom was modern and comfortable.

We did not like bed. İt was vaving and not confortable.
The location of hotel is very good. It is near Tier Garten. The bus stop for number 200 and zologischer Garten train station are the public transportation points that we was used to go every wher we want to go in Berlin. Staffs are very kind and people. They tried to do their best. In breakfast you can find many options, they have very ritch but unfortunattely not delicious food. However you can find good restourants around.

Rooms were light and spacious. Having use of the pool, sauna and steam room was great but the steam room wasn't always switched on. Lobby bar was good but not always open but the reception team could provide beers and wine etc for you upon request.

The hotel doesn't offer larger duvet sizes than a single, which is odd but not a massive issue.
Had a really nice stay. The hotel is in a quiet, yet central location and has lots of amenities. The room was very clean and had a lovely view.

Location is a bit out of the way. 15 minute walk from the S-bahn, >10 minute walk from the U-bahn and 45-50 minute walk from the "centre" (e.g. Brandenburg gate). Amenities in the room were fairly minimal but for the price was what we expected. A simple, no frills but efficient and clean hotel. Would still recommend it to others just be aware of the walking distances.
Good value for money. Large and very comfortable beds. Fantastic breakfast. Clean and comfortable. Noted on the first day that the shower wasn't draining, informed the staff and it was fixed by that evening and they checked with us to make sure.

The price is too high for the current offering. Wifi is not secure, there is no room service and the restaurant is only open for breakfast (both very inconvenient when you are working on a different time zone). Adding a hot plate or a microwave to the bedroom would help, especially since there are no lunch/dining option on site or close enough when you work and have only a short break. NB: I didn't get the balcony I expected. There was a terrace common with the other rooms on the aisle of the floor (small glass partitions between rooms) but it's difficult to enjoy if you are a non-smoker and people are smoking on the other side of the glass. It can also be noisy on weekends when people are partying on the terrace and you are trying to work/sleep.
