How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

One issue I had was the fact that the bathroom did not have any ventilation except for slits in the bathroom door making the bathroom very humid. Also keep in mind that you will hear everything going in the hallway outside.
I liked the fact that you could go straight to your room as you are provided with codes to the main entry and room. The owner was really nice and even gave me an upgrade which I appreciated a lot. Room was affordable and the location was great with walking distance to the most interesting places.

Small but very cozy and comfortable room under the roof on the fifth floor- very very long way up to carry your luggage. Needed some help with self-checkin but helpline in Netherlands very responsive.

On fourth floor but no elevator. With three beds in room quite tight. Room not properly cleaned every day. No free parking on street (garages nearby) because of vicinity to center.
We booked this hotel at the last minute during a trade fair, so we’re happy to get this room at a reasonable price. Excellent location. Beds were comfortable, bathroom small but plenty of hot water. Room on courtyard side so fairly quiet. No reception but contact per telephone very helpful. Access to public transport very near.

The location is very convenient. It is only a 3-minute walk from Königsallee, which is great for morning runs. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the beds are very comfortable, allowing me to have a good rest during this business trip.

Always nice to be back here. Still the best value for money in Düsseldorf. Nice comfy rooms super clean and quiet. Very central location aswell, just a few minutes walk from everywhere interesting in this town. Ah, and super friendly manager, very responsive and helpful

No elevator but it wasn't big problem.
Even tho it was self-check in, everytime when I have question, hotel manager replied really fast and treat situation really flexible. I really appreciated. It was in middle center, place was perfect. Hotel was really comfortable and cozy. It placed in really quiet place. I would definitely visit this hotel again.

Hotel with a small rooms with shower close to the center. Rooms are really small, but if you understand this, the rest is very good. There is a good heating in the room and the windows with a good sound protection.

The room was small and cold. On our last night, a man in the corridor shouted "wait, wait" and tried to open the doors. We were very scared, I think he was drunk. We wrote to the hotel owner, but it took 2-3 hours for them to come because they were far away. We could never sleep and did not feel safe. The hotel owner was very helpful when he came. Thank you. That's okay, but if it's a hotel, someone needs to be there.
