How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A family room is essentially a double room with the couch turned into a bed. Thus it's quite annoying that we have to ask daily for additional room cleaning as its almost impossible to keep the room clean with such small space and a child. Despite the daily arrangement, the hotel did not top up the shampoo causing it to run out. Also, the hotel is near, but not near enough to the city centre and old city that makes it quite cost inefficient if you need to use public transport.
A standard tourist hotel - good clean rooms and neatly maintained if you ask for housekeeping daily. Basic amenities in the room, and the free tier of wifi is decent. Bed was very thick and definitely comfortable, and it was nice for family room to have the same cost as a double. Pricing is decent too.

Friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Good location - about a 15 minute walk into the Old Town, and about 10 min walk to the train station.

The room was beside the main drain of the hotel which has mild sound of running water over the night. The mattress was harder than usual
Enjoyed checking in despite the receptionist does not any of English, only Deutch. Clean ready room.

The bedroom is too warm and it’s because the heating is central. We simply opened the window and let the fresh air in :) Other downsize is that the bed is smaller than the average hotels so we felt a bit tighter :( as a solution we used the couch that turns into an extra bed ;)
The hotel is perfect for a short stay. Rooms are nice. Location is great, only 15’ walking to the center. It has a parking garage for €15 euros per day/night and breakfast is a dream (you can choose to include it or not, for €16 extra), otherwise there is a bakery/coffee in front of the hotel that has great coffee and pastry/sandwiches. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Our experience was great and would choose it again!

pillows are a bit too soft. (although they have thin or thick options of pillows, they unfortunately both don’t give very good support to your neck)
very clean and well equipped. sound insulation is quite good (you can still from time to time hear the trains which are right below the windows a little, but it wouldn’t affect your sleep). most of the time very quiet

Small point : No slippers provided in rooms. Majorly because it is a 3-star property.
With its helpful staff, good location, and clean rooms (with train views, exciting for kids), our stay was a good one. Will return here to stay again shortly!

The rooms was too warm, 22°C (and outside it was 15°C so this strong heating was not nessecary). The underground parking costs 15 eur, which is a bit too pricy. Also, the vehicale height limit is 2.1m so it is not suitable for all cars.
Very clean and comfortable. They even had different types of sheets and pillows to change your bed into if you had different preferences. Delicious breakfast. Excellent soundproofing. We stayed in a room right next to the train tracks and we could not hear the trains at all, even when we saw them pass by. Good location for overnight rest on long drive.

I was very disappointed with my room - or rather two particular aspects of my room. Although there was a table, there was not a chair (or a desk). The table was served by a folded sofa bed but this was the wrong height to sit comfortably at the table if say using a laptop. This was bad enough as a leisure traveler but would have been unacceptable for business use. Freiberg is very close to the Black Forest which is a popular destination for weekend travellers. As a result the hotel was very busy on the Saturday evening and for breakfast on the Sunday morning. The hotel also charged a premium for that night which was nearly 4 times the rate I was charged for the Sunday and Monday nights
The hotel is well located both in terms of accessibility by road/rail and to local transport and the old town and it associated places of interest.
