Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsNo restaurants nearby. Unsafe situation in room, see picture. Cabin corners stick out into room at both eye & knee level. Of our party of 7, one injured, not serious but lots of blood.
For Lindau, reasonable prices. Clean room. Decent breakfast. Ample parking

GermanyAll in all it cost €212 for one night. I think that's a little high for a simple hotel on the outskirts of a city, but the demand was high that weekend. Charging €13 für parking around the hotel without surveillance?! And €16.50 for breakfast buffet, which is ok, but not worth that much. There should be options. There is a bakery next door, but unfortunately closed the day we were there. No ability to cool down the room, because the central setting hadn't switched from winter to summer yet, in mid May, when it's 24°C outside. The answer, when calling the reception (over an 800 number, bc there are no phones in rooms anymore) was to open the window. That's alright, but then the curtain let's light through. For a brand new hotel, surely there are better options to handle individual preferences for room temperature. And why not go contact less in a new hotel? With number locks and send me my code for check-in. But for that you'd have to update your concept Premier Inn.
The Premier in Lindau is brand new. New hotels are always fun to stay in, bc they're clean and all things are still in order. Staff was friendly and efficient; the lobby bar and sitting area are well appointment. In summary the positives outweigh the nuisances.

United KingdomAlthough a reasonable size, the room seemed smaller than would have been the case at a Premier Inn in the UK and I missed the entertainment module that would enable me to connect my laptop to the TV to watch movies or a USB stick to listen to podcasts.
The ambience of the common areas was excellent as was the decor of my room. The hotel was also easy to find being just off an autobahn.

United KingdomStrange situation with the duvet...one single duvet for a double bed?! Not sure why that happened?
Very comfortable room, plenty of space. We only stayed for one night but it was all good. We arrived quite late and there were no restaurant options nearby. However the hotel recommended using Lieferando (like Just Eat) and food was delivered from nearby to reception within an hour!

GreeceWe didn't encounter anything that was really unpleasant, but would have liked a bit better/stronger lighting in the room. The quite weak light is comfy, but not helpful when you check out early and have to pack your suitcase when it is still dark outside. I know this is unfortunately a general trend in modern hotels...
This hotel is newly renovated, so everything was new, clean and shiny; it was a Best Western hotel until very recently. The staff is very friendly, and there is a parking lot right at the hotel, which is a big plus when traveling by car. The Lindau City Bus (line 5) stops behind the hotel and takes you to the Old City on the island without hassle (which is better than driving there, as there are usually no free parking spaces on the island). There is also a McDonald's and a Tesla Supercharger next to the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at this hotel, and recommend it without hesitation.
