Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

The Best Hotel In Germany I have ever stayed, far better than eg HH Atlantic or HH Reichshof, also definitely much nicer than eg Berlin Adlon. I was for 17th time in HH and first time stayed there. Promised myslef to come back. Definitely I may recommend it as I tend to spend good 1m each year in various hotels across different countries and my stay in HVJ absolutely belonged to the most spledid ones:)

KuwaitA little expensive compared to other 5 star hotels, a swimming pool would've been nice. We had an issue with the heater and wanted to turn it off but had to wait for 2 days cause it needed a technicial to do that and there was none during the weekend. I needed to go outside for a smoke from time to time and the room key was huge and heavy to carry but wasn't worth leaving at it at the reception for 5 minutes everytime. Despite that, we had a wonderful time and would go back again.
Location is perfect, staff were amazing, housekeeping was spot on.

NetherlandsThe master room switch... that diabolical invention... if your spouse uses it to turn off the lights in the room before sleeping, (as I couldn't think of any other way than switching each light off individually, and who does that these days?) a trip to the bathroom at night becomes an adventure... and not a good one... Alternatively, one could use "The Devil's Switch" to turn the lights back on, if only it wouldn't engulf the room in one giant super-nova, blinding everybody for next 4 minutes, whilst having to listen to once screaming banshee of a wife uttering profanities and curses in ones direction... Exchange the master switch please... or set it up that the individual lights can still be operated. In the bathroom for instance?
Such an iconic place to be... beautifully decorated for Christmas, most outstanding cuisine and bar, immeculate rooms and service. Great shower, supercomfy bed. Fantastic staff, on all levels. Happy to come back.

TurkeyWe gave a deposit using password which is ok but they charged more than deposit without asking to us. It is both illegal and untrustable because they did not solve it as they told so. The same problem happened two times same problem respectively First day this happened they say we are sorry, the system does it automatically and we will solve it. But second day it happened again and they said the same stuff again. Also they still did not solve it yet. Please be careful

Also the Reception with help, complicated payment arrangements with foreign currency etc. Room always in excellent condition. And your top floor sun deck for afternoon tea and snacks, as well as your food seating arrangement outside along the Binnen Alster.

BahrainThey need to modernize and upgrade their phone and TV. We couldn’t watch anything on TV most channels are in Dutch and we couldn’t log in to our Netflix or Apple TV as the TV is not a smart tv that was a bit disappointing considering the hotel being a high end hotel.
The hotel was very elegant and classy and the rooms were really clean and tidy. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is really good very well situated and close to restaurants and shopping area
