Nothing, it was all lovely. There's not much else here, so it's a good place to properly relax.

Loved the pool and the breakfasts. If we came back would book one of the rooms opening out on to the pool. Friendly staff, great service, clean and comfortable rooms. Lovely peaceful location.

The dinner portion at the restaurant could have been larger for the price paid. But the flavor was great, so this is just a small personal critique.

The single room was comfortable. The Sauna was also nice after using the Fitness room. The dinner tasted amazing and the serving staff were all very friendly.

Naming the place a castle is taking the mouth too full. It is a hotel. Missed the hangers for towels to dry in the bath room. The village is boring, nothing to see.

Very nice breakfast and sitting area outside. Nice clean room with very clean bathroom. Worth the money!

There were no facilities to make tea or coffee which for us is a real drawback and we would have liked a proper chair. The shower room was separate from the toilet with the basin in-between in the main bedroom - this felt a little clumsy.

The room was small but attractive. There was only a semi-comfy 'bench-sofa' to seat one person but another upright chair. Although we overlooked the road, the room was quiet. We found the car- charging facility excellent. Excellent breakfast in a comfortable space.

Breakfast could be better. An hour before end there was almost nothing to eat, only bread, a few meals and coffee.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is good and easy to find. Pretty big public parking with a lot of space even on the weekend.

It is a bit further outside Freiburg than we realised but a day by the pool made up for that!

A very pleasant large room overlooking the pool. We ate in the Cross Over restaurant which had very good food and friendly staff. Breakfast was also good.

The room looks a bit "clinical". It's clean, but could be a little more cosy.

I liked the concept of the hotel - an old castle, two restaurants and a bar, friendly staff, quiet location.

Sadly I booked a single room which was absolutely tiny and I must admit very claustrophobic. Furthermore like being in a cruise ship cabin . just took The age of an otherwise perfect stay

Beautiful location spotlessly clean and very friendly staff. I also find the breakfast here is one of the best I’ve ever had, it’s always a shame we don’t have long enough to enjoy it slowly

Room not as advertised, service lacking

    • Junior Suite

The “Junior Suite” on booking.com was advertised as comprising a private sauna and bathrobes. This was NOT the case. No sauna, no bathrobes. We did not receive towels for the pool either and instead had to beg the cleaning staff for extra towels (they were reluctant to give these to us, asking “don’t you have any in the room!?”) The room was not ready on arrival at 15:15 and we had to wait nearly an hour for the room to be cleaned. Having driven for several hours with a small child, this was less than ideal. We had a lot of luggage to accommodate our small son and we’re offered a large hotel-style luggage trolley that we had to haul upstairs ourselves. This has never happened to us anywhere before and strikes me as tedious, verging on a health & safety hazard.

Beautifully situated in a rural setting, lovely pool, modern and stylish ambiance. Excellent “local cuisine” restaurant with world class dishes (we loved the veal cheeks and chanterelle tagliatelle).

Restaurant was fully booked, so we decided to eat in the in house pizzeria. Nicely located in inner yard, but under trees with aphid . All chairs and tables were sticky. We decided to take table not under trees. Drinks ordered, but forgotten. Had to ask for it. Next starter ordered and main course. When after long time our main corse arrived, the waiter realised we did not get our starter. No attempt was made to correct this in any way, so we decided not to tip. Spend aprox 200 euro on mediocre food , don’t recommend to eat there

    Nicely situated, great pool

Difficulty in parking. And that My room didn’t have towels when I arrived , but in no time the personal brought some in my room so the problem was solved in some minutes. Otherwise my stay and experience was pleasant.

Friendly and well trained personal. Wonderful yard or garden. Reasonable breakfast product quality.

Not what I expected of a "Schloss".
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Double Room with Balcony
    • Stayed 3 nights

I had booked a twin bed room, we were given a room with a double bed - I was sharing the room with my 15 yr old granddaughter! The male reception clerk was very arrogant and said firstly I was given a room that I had ordered and that the beds forming the double bed could eventually be separated - it was not done and I therefore had to ask the cleaning staff to do it, which they did with single sheets and moving the beds. I wasted time and energy as I didn't receive what I had ordered on arrival as it was clearly not a twin bed room. There were no net curtains on the windows on the whole side of the floor where our room was situated, only on the opposite side of pool area, so the heavy curtains had to be drawn for privacy as you could see people in their rooms from the pool! The channels available on the t.v. were all German speaking, I did not find English, French or Italian channels. There were no brochures or plan of the city map of Freiburg on what to see in town or in the area.

The pool was nice and warm, the breakfast was copious and the staff very pleasant as were the staff in the bar area.
