Sankt Goar itself..surprising lack of food options, most of which were bland , to say the least.. Restaurants not accepting cards is also not alright

Excellent breakfast, located 100m from the Rhine - what's not to like..

The bed was a little springy but it wasn't a deal breaker. Also, it is worth to note that there's no elevator and only 2 rooms are on the first floor, 4 rooms are on the second and the family rooms are on the top floor. Wasn't a problem for us but certainly challenging if you come with a large luggage and are not fit!

The Breakfast spread was simple but very good and filling, personalized touch (like a reserved table for each guest), good sized room, mattress topper to join the two single beds, the owner's hospitality and the perfect location. We could also park our pram near the reception to avoid carrying it all the way up and down each time.

Our room was very clean. There are kitchen supplies that you can use to prepare coffee or anything you need. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was big and extremely clean.

Most venues in town were closed for dinner as it was low season and Monday night. Mattress was too hard for me but my husband didn't mind it at all.

Only minutes walk away from the train station, cruise piers and in the centre of town it is well located. We arrived by cruise and the room was ready early for us which was fantastic! Stefan is friendly. The room was lovely and clean. Nice choice of food for breakfast (European).

Maybe the stairs as we’re getting older but that’s minor and so far not a problem.

We love this hotel and first stayed there approximately 20 years ago. It still maintains its original charm which we love. Breakfast was excellent with our name on the table and we were served at the table. The new owners are certainly working hard at maintaining this beautiful old hotel and doing an excellent job.

The room was very large with everything we required. It was clean and comfortable. The location was excellent, in the middle of the town, close to the Rhine, and a pleasant walk to the castle. The breakfast was enjoyable. The owner spoke good English and was helpful with recommendations. We did need to carry our luggage up one floor, but stairwell was generous. Free parking nearby meant we did not need to use the car - everything was within walking distance.

The breakfast was a great day. Although parking was not available on-site, we got parking very close to the hotel. The owners were very friendly. The location was centrally located to explore the area.

Lack of English language TV stations. Would have been nice if the small bar on the ground floor was open.

Family room was on the 3rd floor. Taking luggage up the stairs was difficult but you have to expect this in older hotels.

Herr Tornau-Schmid was a wonderful host. Great location. A very short walk to the Rhine, and a nice hike up the hill to Burg Rheinfels. Large room. The breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend.

Climbing up to get to our room was tough so people with difficulty of climbing should request a lower floor unit

Unfortunately, there was a concert (electro music) up in the castle and it was a little noisy from the streets from all the partying at night because we had to keep the windows open for fresh air. And thats why the castle was closed to visit. It is not the hotel's fault of course, but something to keep in mind for planning.

Breakfast was amazing and the host was very accommodating. They gave us the parking information before we arrived. The balcony was lovely and we had a castle view on one side and river view on another side. The room was spacious and clean.
