How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

They have not been able to reopen the restaurant in the hotel due to staffing issues—-but their recommendations for alternatives were both excellent
Location was very near train station, convenient if using as base for day trips to other Rhine towns. Breakfast lived up to the reviews

Stefan and staff gave us a great room and excellent breakfast for a reasonable price, actually a little more than reasonable, inexpensive is closer. Our 3 nights were too short.

We loved our stay! Our host was very accommodating of our late arrival time, the room was great, with a balcony overlooking the high street, and breakfast was delicious!

well, the beds were softer than I would have liked, but otherwise, it had everything one would need. Just be aware there is no elevator and quite a few steps. I imagine it could be warm here in the summer months, but we were lucky with the weather.
great location, right in town and they also offer some good German food if you are stuck there during a rainy day like we were...the idea of slugging it through town and getting drenched just didnt sound so great. They were also very accommodating and allowed us to keep our bags there for a little while since we arrived before check-in. Good breakfast too. =)

Breakfast was very good. Even had scrambled eggs to make the Americans happy! Offered us secure bike parking overnight. Ate kasespaetzle at the restaurant for dinner. It was excellent.

We arrived late and it was pouring rain- the wonderful hotel manager was waiting for us and directly opened the door and helped us out. The facilities were clean , although a little outdated in style - they still give you a feeling like Home. It was clean in general and the staff was just so so lovely helpful and kind - would definitely come back. Also the Location is just perfect!!

Room and Linen cleanliness can be improved.
The Hotel is well connected and easy to reach. The breakfast was delicious and covered up for some uncleanliness we found in room.

We found the mattress not particularly comfortable, and the pillows to high. Furthermore we were surprised at checkout that no credit cards were accepted.
The Hotel is in the heart of St. Goar, a central position for visiting the entire region. The hosts are very kind and dedicated, The rooms are clean, and the breakfast very good.

We were not expecting so many stairs. There is no elevator and there are four floors. Bathroom was small. Breakfast was good but there could have been more variety, especially for people staying more than one night.
Good location, one street back from main road. Very quiet. Room was spacious. Our breakfast table was reserved for us each morning. The restaurant was bright and clean. There were snacks and drinks available for after hours, on an honour system. (Reasonably priced and white wine was chilled) The owner was extremely helpful with parking and the best local restaurants.

The place sant goar was so changed, so empty. I have been there before.

We got the large room for family of three. I was worried about “pullout couch”, but I must be thinking of old versions. Everything was fabulous. Owner was awesome! We had a wonderful stay!
