I find the price a bit high for this type of a hotel, but not by much, so it's still ok.

Large room, simple but very clean and we'll kept. Very friendly and helpful staff. There is a free Parking for the hotel guests. I didn't eat breakfast so I can't comment on it.

If I had to mention something: pillows a bit thin/flat, and bathroom a bit outdated.

Convenient location for a night night stop on our travels, easy to reach from the highway, good parking behind the hotel. In a nice and quiet street. The Ritter restaurant has a great biergarten and a nice and varied food selection. Friendly and helpful staff!

Breakfast was very nice and good. They also have there own restaurant with a very nice cosyBeergarden on the other side of the street. Very good and not expensive. As Dessert they even have an Italian icecream bar. It was very nice to spend the evening there. I enjoyed my stay fully.

The rooms really need some mechanical ventilation, not airconditioning perse but just a way to get more fresh air in the room and bathroom.

I stayed the first night, and was not happy (very old, dark and musky with people sitting in doorways drinking and smoking… didn’t want to stay a second. I cancelled the second night, first thing in the morning and was informed that i would receive a refund. That never happened. Dishonest business.

The main issue for me was that I was intending to get a good nights rest after a long day - so I booked a quiet (so I thought) hotel in a small town, away from Karlsruhe and big roads, with room featuring “garden view” and a balcony. But it turned out to be almost a complete opposite. First, when I checked in and found that my room is facing the street and doesn’t have a balcony. I checked with the lady at the reception but she wasn’t very helpful saying that she didn’t know anything about the Booking.com listing and could only offer me another room “with a balcony” - which turned out to be a first floor room with a balcony facing the parking behind the house. At the moment there was only couple cars, and I was quite tired to negotiate further, so I agreed to it, as I thought that even without a garden view it will be peaceful enough to sleep. But when I came back from the supper, the parking was full of cars, and the guests (or someone on/behind the parking) were very loud,maybe having a party, laughing drinking and smoking. At around 11pm or even later there was a really loud music (which I could hear even with the windows closed and earplugs in my ears). And early in the morning guests started to leave early (around 7-8pm) with the sound of suitcases rolling on the brick-paved parking lot being very loud.

Old hotel in the middle of the Büchenau, convenient parking behind the house(s), cozy patio to have breakfast/coffee in, very high quality (though oldish - but perfectly functional) appliances/bed linen/etc.

The worst pillow I have ever encountered. It felt like my head was on a couple of old pairs of jeans stuffed into a sack.

It has shutters and is very quiet. Great breakfast. The restaurant was friendly and the food good.

There was no air conditioning. It was very sad and bad. the bed needs to be renewed now. the bed was very uncomfortable, I couldn't sleep properly.

It was nice to find an available hotel nearby. I am pleased about that. location was ok.
