Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyIt raises your expectations so high that you usually don't like to stay in any other place after that!
This place is far beyond just a hostel. It feels like a welcoming home for anyone who stays there, even for a couple of days. and usually, the people who stay there for the first time always regret why their stay is not longer (just like I did). The friendly and cosy atmosphere, the cool and inspiring people who own, work or stay there, the cute chicken, the free movie night that happens every evening, The herb garden and the apple tree, and many other things make Sandino one of a kind and a place where everybody loves to return to, once they experience being there. Thank you, Micha and all the other beautiful souls who make Sandino as great as it is now.

BelarusVery cosy and nice hostel:) Season kitchen and places for sitting and chatting around with other guests outdoors. The atmosphere of local community of people who stay there at the same time with you - it was amazing to spend 3 nights there and inhale its vibe)

GermanyThere was a bonfire every night and the smoke triggered my allergies.
Very unique hostel, lots of friendly people open to talk and make friends. The atmosphere is great, reminds me of a farm house. Don't go in expecting the same thing as you would from a chain hostel. It's more like a shared house.

IndiaEh this might be nitpicking, but my top bunk did not have a power socket! Thankfully my phone's cable was super long so that didnt bother me too much. The showers can also be improved Can be a bit far from some places - depends on where you're going
The space is just incredible, and you can feel the amount of energy and care that's gone into it. Unlike any other hostel I have stayed in, at least in Europe :) Kitchen (well equipped!) and common areas are so cosy and so nice to have. Socialising was easy in the setting, and made some interesting connections I also like the fact that the dorms are a quiet zone and strictly meant for sleeping and resting.

United KingdomThe showers could be improved - maybe doors instead of curtains or soap holders would be useful.
It was so friendly, open and chill. One of the best if not the best hostel I’ve stayed - everyone was so open and friendly! Facilities were always clean.

BulgariaSimply one of the best hostels I've been. Cinema and campfire every evening, a lot of common social areas. Huge kitchen with everything you need. Location is not that close to the city center, but easy connection with tram M5.

PolandI've been to so many hostels and none of them even came close to this one ;) So cool, hippie vibes but also really well organized, you can chill knowing the staff will take care of everything (Claire was lovely!). A great place to meet people and go party together, but if you're not in a social mood you can just read a book in the patio and get a good night's sleep as well. Also everyone gets a towel, so no need to bring yours.

FranceThe atmosphere was amazing; something for everyone. It was incredibly comfortable and accommodating. We stayed in one of the furnished tents and it was perfect. We actually regretted that we were only there for 3 nights, as we wanted to spend more time at the hostel!

TaiwanThere are some mosquitoes at night, which is a bit annoying, but I think it's unavoidable.
The hosts are very nice! The bed is comfortable, and the room is spacious. Also it's really convenient to get from Alexanderplatz to the hostel. If I have a chance to stay in Berlin in the future, I'll stay here again!!

ItalyThe place is very nice with a lot a space for relaxing. It feels like a camping but with the facilities of an Hostel. Staff has been very welcoming and nice. Definitely a place to visit if you like to stay in the nature also while visiting a city. 30minutes distance from the city centre with the Tram, easy to reach with public transport also in the night.

SwedenCompared to some of the cheaper hostels avaiable cost level is a few euros steeper but totally worth it for larger shared rooms, excellent cleaning and seevices, very quiet rooms excellent for rest and nice community areas.
Hands down best and most genuine community type of personal hostel for social interaction and a chilled out stay available in Berlin. The place is excellently run by helpful and pleasant host and the nice outside grounds provides best possible meeting spaces for new and old friends. I also liked that the shared rooms were larger than usual + the kitschen was clean, well equipped and had boxes for ”free to use” etc. Could not recommend more, will stay again (already booked my next week in September even before leaving).

United KingdomThe communal bathrooms might not be for everyone, but this is advertised and is what it is. it didn’t bother us - other guests were respectful.
Great atmosphere, very communal, great for groups. They put a lot of effort into setting the place up for mingling with other travellers and is ideal for backpackers. it’s one tram journey of 15-20 minutes from central Berlin but has enough amenities nearby. The semi-outdoors cooking area has a really nice summery feel to it.

GermanyThe only thing I disliked was that the showers didn't have a mount place for the shower head, as someone from Brazil I'd like if it had some.
The ambience and feel of the place, the price, location was also good, they have facilities for cooking, offer a "survival guide" in case you're lost and staff is friendly, had a great time there.
