Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyGranted we only stayed 1 day, it is in kind of a smaller village with not a lot to do. That being said, that's exactly why we went so it was ok for us.
Everything here was great. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. The pool/sauna was amazing. Food and drinks were great as well.

GermanyWe've had the most wonderful experience staying at Schloss Lieser. The hotel exuded charm and elegance, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The spacious and beautifully decorated room provided a comfortable and relaxing environment. The amenities were top-notch, and the attention to detail was evident throughout the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back in the future. Schloss Lieser truly exceeded our expectations and made our time there truly special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable experience.

This hotel just knocks it out of the park! Service is terrific, food is fabulous , the spa is great too! We were there for 4 nights over the Christmas holidays and we never went anywhere else during g our stay. The renovation a few years ago was the perfect blend of modern amenities yet preserving the classic charm of a castle of this vintage None of us wanted to leave! Can't recommend it enough...

GermanyFrankly, really hard to tell what I didn't like. If at all paradise could be free....everything has its price I guess. Not surprising in a genuine castle: I did discover that a spider had just built a new home on our bedroom ceiling. :-)
The Staff does an amazing job, professional, effective and friendly, readily engaging, even assisting with solving unusual problems (fixing a scooter). The Schloss Lieser, obviously being a castle, is an unmatched location, worth the banner "Autograph". The breakfast experience was unique as well, again from the "royal" seating, over the broad selection of food items even including local sparkling to yet another subsection of friendly and professional staff. We very much enjoyed the wine tasting experience organized in the cellars of Schloss Lieser. From Schloss Lieser one can discover the fantastic Mosel area on foot, by bike or car. Countless wineries in walking distance.

United StatesWe would have liked something printed that described all the amenities in detail, along with a map of both the hotel and the surrounding area. It was no big deal. We understood the basics when we booked, but we would have liked something along the lines of what I've described.
The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The hotel, room, and facilities are stunning, as is the view of the river. The breakfast was superb. The swimming pool and spa area are the cleanest and best I've ever seen at any hotel or resort. The choice of different types of saunas (steam, infrared, etc.) is amazing.

NetherlandsAssuming the Puricelli restaurant is part of the hotel, this would be the only negative. On TripAdvisor it has a Michelin guide mention (not star!), so we were very excited to try their menu. We started with a drink on the terrace where the waiter told us the whole staff are very new (5 months). Unfortunately this showed in the food and service, which meant that it was grossly overpriced for the quality we received. Mind you, the staff were very friendly! But the food was subpar, bland and uninspired. I’m judging this from a Michelin mention perspective, it just didn’t live up. This was quite the disappointment to an otherwise perfect stay!
Rarely have I been so enamored with a property. Majestic, grand and very impressive. The staff are amazing, welcoming. The interior is out of a fairytale castle. The spa is wonderful, breakfast top notch. Room is spacious, clean. All the amenities you can imagine are provided!

PortugalThe art in the corridors are all reproductions and a bit painfull for the eyes. But it is the American way of decorating.
It is an amazing hotel , very well located on the river Mosel. Very friendly staff, with the check in they serve you a glass of Sekt. The restaurant is classy with some adventures on the menu and a great selection of open Mosel wines. The spa and pool area - plus the gym are super clean and well equiped. You feel like a royal, the red carpet rolled out. Management is super organised and keeps the hotel smoothly running. All with all super comfy, lot of international guests, but still the germany hospitality is there.
