Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Australiait was hot without A/C (it wasn’t too hot outside either). tv only had two channels, no compatibility to cast either. was noisy adjacent to construction site (no fault of hotel). check in codes didn’t come through, luckily they had a staff member near by who saw us struggling. bed was not comfortable to our liking.
location was great and the room was nice, clean, and secure.

AustraliaWe’ve stayed here before under previous ownership/management and while the new model is good if you’re after an Airbnb type stay without actually doing that, we found for the price that it’s not really worth it comparatively anymore. The entire reception/communal area is now blocked off to guests and used for storage(but looks exactly the same, as do the rooms) and if you need assistance you just talk to a random person on WhatsApp and hope for the best. This hotel is probably fine now for a couple of days if you know Berlin well, but if not I’d recommend staying elsewhere, and we likely will if we travel back to Berlin.
The property is in a good location, serviced well by trams and close to restaurants/cafes etc.

United KingdomThe room was very noisy (traffic) and as the weather was very hot and there was no air conditioning there was no option other than to have the windows open. It would have been good to have had an option of a window covering when the main curtains were open as the floor to ceiling window directly onto the street is exposing. The coffee maker was also broken.
The building location is good (although very noisy if in an apartment on the road) and the room is well decorated and comfortable. More comfortable than a hotel room and excellent communication around the booking.

United StatesThere is no AC on this property. I was there during a heatwave which made this very uncomfortable at times. They do not give you very many towels, and no wash cloths. I was staying for a week and the policy is that they clean and refresh the room after 7 days. I was told if I wanted more towels I would have to pay for them. Its strange that you get the same amount of towels if you stay 3 or 7 days. I had to buy my own wash cloths. I also had to buy my own coffee even though the property states that coffee is part of the stay. They give you 3-4 pods when you arrive, again because I was staying 7 days, I had to buy my own coffee pods. If you are staying 3 days you would be ok. Strange that 3-4 day stay has the same coffee as a 7 day stay.
Location is amazing. Balcony was great to have. Kitchenette was a great feature. Property is in a very quiet neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants around. A nice organic grocery store is down the street. Public transportation is very easy to access.

United StatesThe water pressure in the shower was very poor. The water would alternate between too hot and too cold, and lastly, the handle would get too hot to handle. We were there during a heat wave. On the 4th floor, it was very hot without any air conditioning. It would have been nice to be on the opposite side of the hall, since the street side was noisy.
It was nice having a mini kitchen with an electric pot for heating water and a frig for keeping drinks cold

RomaniaWhen the Limehouse chain took over these properties they closed the breakfast room and reduced the staff to an absolute minimum. There's no longer any reception desk. One is sent SMS with door codes. This makes the property much less personal, and if you have any problems there isn't anyone on hand to talk to, at least in the evenings, (I found a distraught couple in front of the building whose booking had been mysteriously cancelled and weren't able to contact Limehouse by telephone.) At 250 Euros a night for the best studios this is not good service.
I have stayed at this property a number of times. The studios 701 and 704 on the seventh floor still have pleasant city views, although there is currently an enormous building site nextdoor. The decor of the apartments is chic, there's everything you need and a number of nice extra "touches" (plenty of pillows, nice tableware and glassware, good quality soap, etc.)

GermanyThe garbage disposal was tricky, I felt like I was living in my own apartment and I was not sure from their rules if I had to dispose my own garbage.
I liked the apartment, it was a studio and it was big enough for 2 people. Maybe not when both were working from there. The apartment had all cooking utensils required, actually a full kitchen with an espresso machine and kettle with a range of tea and coffee pods. I had some trouble receiving the entry code, maybe because I booked last minute but the customer service helped me very quickly.
