It was hard to get in at first. There was no clear indication if it is the place. Someone who already checked in helped us through the door but it was difficult. The room had 3 beds but none of them were very comfortable. The mattresses were soft and you could feel you are sinking a bit. We had only 3 hours to sleep so it was not a bad deal after all based on location.

The location was great. We had to take flight at night and it worked for us. Beds were not very comfortable but they served the purpose a bit.

Wrong info about how to get in on the english confirmation mail but right in the german text. Got let in by other guests. The bed sheets and towlels smelled very perfumed so not good if you have an allergy.

Booked the same day and got a really good price. Looked a bit spooky but was clean and comfortable.

Having made a last-minute, night reservation, I was unable to access the property upon arrival. The pin was not included with the automated intro message and management was not reachable with the number provided. So, I sat, alone, in the dark (I’m a woman and this place is relatively isolated on a dark road) around midnight until I was able to access the property. At first, I thought the house was absolutely charming-with lots of relics to *other* cultures (ironic given how some guests are treated). To cut this short- the basement where I had a bed smelled like feet and there might be a mildew problem down there. There are also a few long-term local guests who insulted me based on my gender and being an educated woman. They also contributed to the atmosphere smelling like feet.

The guests I met from other countries were LOVELY and provided the most hospitality of all. A woman associated with the hostel was there on my second short stay and thought it was cute to be passive aggressive and say “goodbye” in French when I arrived to check in. She then yelled in German that I could leave if they didn’t receive my transfer for the overly expensive charge when I couldn’t even get in. Luckily, I speak several languages and her French wasn’t very impressive. All in all, I would tell others not familiar with Hamburg that the name is misleading and you will be a 40 min bus ride from the city center. Laundry facilities are not shared with guests so you’ll have to travel for that as well. The garden and house itself is very cute. I would say to book if you have a car or enjoy the German version of hospitality. Otherwise, you’re better off spending extra money and stay in a (relevant) part of Hamburg, which is a beautiful city overall.

Not clear how to get in, where the keys are hidden, etc. I was helping other guests to find their rooms, also at night, as the owner was nowhere. But if you are looking for some unusual experiences, this is the place.

Very relaxed peculiar place with a common kitchen where you can meet people. I had fun.

The name of the place is different than the sign on the building itself. There it is called a hostel. In booking.com it is not clear that it is a hostel

Super dirty and bad smell; too much noise in the night, no privacy, the beds super unpleasant and the owner very rude. We never received an email with an explanation how to get in. He started complaining very annoyed why we didnt read his email. Crazy start of holiday in Hamburg!!

Very small room with a single and a bunk bed. The bunk bed was squeaking even with my kid. The mattress was very very uncomfortable. The heating was not working.

The room is not really clean, bath room dirty, noisy from other guest (you can still hear at 23.00 people shouting), the door squeak is difficult to open and to close. There is very high traffic in the bathroom and toilette, 1 share bath room and 1 toilet is not enough for 14 rooms and probably 28 guests. The owner should add more toilet and bath rooms

Is reasonable price.
