Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkNot really anything to complain about, but a few disappointing details. Breakfast is good, plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, croissants, but not extraordinary to justify the high price. Even though flaxseeds are offered, they are not ground. On Sunday almost everything in the city is closed, so make sure to enjoy the hotel to the fullest.
The location could not be better: on a quiet island, just one bridge away from buzzing down town. The hotel is huge with a subtle cruiseship theme. Soft carpets everywhere, roman room decor - all of those details attract dust, but everything is clean. For example remote control is desinfected and wrapped. Managers have very good quality control in place. You would think that perhaps employees are stressed out maintaining all of this all day, but no, they are enthuastic and friendly. Every time I am abroad, I feel vulnerable and stressed, but here i was surrounded with relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is renovated every few years so the equipment and furniture feels clean, almost new. Room had a windowed balcony with a couch, surprisingly hard but very comfortable to enjoy sunrise or chill out after busy day. Room includes nespresso machine which can make both coffee and tee (a handful of capsules are complementary). Restaurant is nice and cozy, there's a table in an open batyscaphe with round windows 🫡 Nice pool and wellness, plenty of towels, two saunas, one 65°C and wet, another 95°C and dry. There are posters explaining how to enjoy saunas, but not so much about rules. One must prepare for a possible cultural shock: Germans enjoy saunas naked, women enjoy, men enjoy, so that's a benefit. There are separate sections for lockers and showers but saunas are common areas. Sometimes a gentlemen will "guard" an entry so ladies can enjoy the fun alone. The pool is not large but not crowded either: just a few couples roaming on a weekend. Downtown is really well preserved renaissance old town with many huge churches. One day is plenty to visit all the major streets.

GermanyNothing to remark on.
Great location, close to the center and walking distance to the central train station (we arrived by train). Comfortable and spacious room, maybe not luxurious but of high standard. Breakfast was very good with a good selection and high quality food and drinks. The staff was professional and friendly.

SwedenEven if the dog could stay it was a bit confusing about the regulations. We were told that the dog wasn't allowed in certain spaces which we accepted. This meant we had to go out for breakfast and it was hard to find somewhere suitable and accepting, but when we got back someone was having breakfast with their dog at the hotel which we thought was not allowed. The information given could have been a bit clearer. It is appreciated that dogs can stay in the hotel, but sometimes the practicalities are not always thought through - it is useful to have spaces for dog/pet owners to sit/eat as we cannot leave our pets alone in our rooms.
We could stay in the hotel with our dog, which is helpful as not all places accept animals. It was a nice room with a view of the water. We would stay here again.

SwedenThe on-line checkin was useless. We had to go through ”the whole procedure” anyway at check-iin. When we thougt we “only had to pick up the keyes”, we had to fill in credentials that were submitted already.

PortugalWe didn't like the price of the breakfast so we went onto the island in search of a place and found a great one! Cheaper too. Not enough outlets for the computer at the desk as the lamp and coffee machine were plugged in there. Also the desk is situated so that when someone is sitting there it is hard to get past because the bed is there. The sliding door to the bathroom is not good: does not really close tightly so not much privacy.
The location is great on the other side of the River Trave from the island. A short walk away is a bridge to the island with loads of restaurants to choose from. The room was very nice and a great size. The decor was tasteful and the lighting was good. The staff were all very friendly and the little offerings of apples, water, cookies was a nice touch.

SpainNothing much really to say here.
The rooms, albeit not always very back, are very comfortable. The views out on the water in the buildings across are very soothing. The staff is kind. Everything is clean. The hotel has a nice bar that you can visit in the evening.

United StatesOur only complaint is reservations were necessary for dinner. The hotel is understaffed and overbooked in that regard. We had to sit at the bar. That should not be the case for paying guests. It would be helpful to have room for beds being further apart.
Generally a lovely, clean location, with attentive staff and a fair price. We were given a handicapped room which has an accessible shower. Very nice. Pool was also lovely.
