Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA small niggle was that the pillows were a little flat for my taste however as I didn't complain, the hotel did not have a chance to rectify this.
Hotel Spahr is very convenient for Ubahn. My son and I found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. They helped us with directions and gave recommendations for local places to eat and drink. We had one of the traditional rooms, which was so roomy and comfortable. Good choice of breakfast items which was self service although fresh coffee was brought to table

Bosnia and HerzegovinaThe parking might be a bit problematic for larger/executive cars. Though I’ve seen a few large cars in the parking.
The staff were extremely friendly. Like they’re actually friendly and not forced to be. The hotel is very well-decorated; it has a soul.

GermanyNext to my bed I was not only welcomed by sweets but also by a hair. That wasn't the most clean impression. Coffee selection for breakfast is big but the Latte Macchiato was one of the worst I ever had. But overall, breakfast was still fine. Fresh rolls, big fresh selection of everything you need. And again: friendly stuff.
The location is right next to a tram stop, literally. By tram it's only 12mins from main station, even less from Bad Cannstatt that has also a train station. The walls are very solid, the balcony is kind of a green house with windows and the doors are double so despite it being next to team and street it's quiet. Even other guests cannot disturb you thanks to the double door. The stuff is great, friendly, bit funny mode, 24/7 present.

SerbiaNothing to complain really, except maybe that it was not so easy to find a parking spot late in the night, as we did not had a reservation for their internal parking.
We spent only a few hours as we arrived late at night and had to leave in the morning, but our stay was superb. Comfy beds, heated bathroom floor, nice coffee and good breakfast. Everything on point. It's also pet friendly.

NorwayOur beds couldn't be pushed together (I will be honest and say I probably should have read the room descriptions a bit better?), but having said that, we both slept like the dead, and our room overlooked the street with the U-Bahn running right past. I would have liked a charging point for our electronics a bit closer to the bed, but I guess the 70s didn't have USB-style plugs, or Handys for that matter (there's a landline phone right next to the bed!), but there were sockets, and the bathroom had a fast-drying hairdryer, so that was okay! Maybe also a coffee machine, but now I'm just being picky, and it certainly motivated us to get downstairs, to enjoy our first coffee at breakfast.
Perfectly located, right next to the Uff-Kirschoff stop of the U-Bahn in Bad Canstatt, with several different U-Bahn routes stopping there. We loved the free parking, as it meant we could leave the car and use the available public transport. The hotel prides itself on its character, and once we'd got over the surprise of the 1970s decor in our room, with a very modern bathroom thrown in, it made me smile. Looking at other photos, I can see that the decor varies quite a bit, so you're either going to get quirky, or more modern. The breakfast is certainly fully-laden, with all the usual Continental breakfast options, and the breakfast room has lots of different seating areas, so you're spoilt for choice. We also visited the bar (small, but well-stocked), and the prices were great, and the staff were very friendly, chatty in the right way, and we're definitely planning to stay there again the next time we're in Stuttgart.

JerseyQuirky, olde worlde hotel ideally situated to visit Canstatt old town, VFB Stuttgart and der Wasen and with easy access to Stuttgart as a whole. The room was somewhat of a surprise as it was not only large but appeared to have a dressing room! The room was old fashioned with wooden panels and old fashioned lamps. Surprising therefore that bed was so low and in some ways modern. Bed was quite firm but comfortable. Only comment is about yhe lack of plugs to charge phone. Bathroom was again a bit of a throwback to the past with the toilet paper dispenser having ridges to put cigarettes on! Be careful of hot water as was scalding. Everything was extremely clean and hotel was very quiet. Room 210 came with a balcony which was large enough to sit on. Breakfast was nicely presented and perfectly adequate for the price. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The bar is olde worlde-shame no one was in it. UBahn stop (Uff-Kirchhof) immediately by hotel. If going to a Vfb Stuttgart match or wanting a bolt hole if attending Fest on der Wasen would definitely stay here again as excellent value.

RomaniaDespite the ‘70s theme present everywhere, the hotel looks ok, clean and new bathrooms. Anyway, they must refurbish some very old stuffs (carpet, especially) and make the beds a little bit more comfortable.
The breakfast was a very nice experience. Especially the table, how they served the coffee was quite impressive. I really like it.

GermanyNo electric sockets anywhere near the bed (only one in the room at all, at the opposite end of the room). Wifi didn't work. Quite cold when I arrived; had to turn the radiator up to full and open the curtains so that the heat got in to the room.
Quick and easy check-in. Good breakfast with very attentive staff. Location very convenient for the U-Bahn.
