Haus St Anton was a wonderful, quaint property to stay at while visiting the Zugspitze region. Grainau is such a pretty Bavarian village, and St Anton fits in well in the community. Lots of small touches inside (wood details, Bavarian country scene paintinged on walls and doors, antiques, etc.), and a fantastic Alpine view in the backyard!

Everything about this place was charming. There's a wonderful restaurant next door. And if you are fortunate enough to be there when the owner's mother is there, you're in for a real treat! She is such a wonderful person! They have room service for breakfast.

Property was listed as ground floor but was actually first floor (European). A little hard to find the room. But then the host caught up with us and helped.

Old rustic charm with all of the modern conveniences. Beautiful view of the Alps. Short drive to Oberammergau and Garmisch. Very good communication with host.

- Creaky floors - Can get a bit dark in the house during cloudy, rainy nights - Only one mirror (in the bathroom). No full-sized mirror in the bedroom. Overall, everything about St. Anton was wonderful, and we regret being unable to stay longer.

- Great communication with the owner. We had a mishap finding the keys to the house but it was resolved quickly after messaging via Whatsapp. - Spacious house in a quiet, bucolic neighborhood. It was like entering a fairytale world. - Properly functioning and fully stocked kitchen with plates, pans, dish soap, electric kettle, fridge - A Bluetooth-enabled mirror in the bathroom (!!!) and a heated towel warmer - Lots of windows with natural lighting - Comfy beds and fluffy blankets. - Plenty of private parking spaces. - Lovely decor and antiques that adorn the home. - Plenty to do and see nearby at Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Zugspitze.

Great location only a mile away from the the ground station of the Zugspitze train. Inside and outside it has this marvelous Bavarian touch. The apartment in the second floor is spacious and comfortable.

After making the reservation, the host answered all my questions immediately, except when I really needed to know if there was a chance to change (push) the reservation to the next day. I booked in advance with no option to cancel (yes, I know my fault). Due to the airline strike, my husband's flight was pushed to the next day. I used booking's messenger app and sms to just see, if there was any slight chance to push our reservation by one day. Received no response, not even a NO. I ended up going with my sons without my husband, still enjoyed my stay, but was a bit dissapointed by not receiving response in time for me to make any travel adjustments.

Beautiful country house with superb view on the mountains (around the corner). Really nice hostess, neat furnishings. Coffee, chocolates and really, really comfy beds! Super. The tiny town is walking distance and charming. There were no cups (except for expresso), no glasses, so make sure you ask for these.

We booked exactly 1 year prior to our stay. The owner contacted us a few days before our arrival to say there was a booking mistake. We were moved from two separate rooms to an apartment with two bedrooms but only one toilet. This was a slight inconvenience for our party of two couples. Owner apologized for mixup and adjusted our bill.

Beautiful, small boutique hotel. Very comfortable beds. The hotel is a short walk from the town center for restaurants. (A great dinner spot is Vinotheck & Bistro). Owner's mother was extremely welcoming. She brought us a wonderful breakfast which we ordered each selection the night before.

Lovely room in a beautiful classic house in the very heart of the mountains. Breakfasts were delicious and served outside so we could look at the views while eating. The small city is quiet but has everything you may need (shops, cafe, bakery, great restaurants) and bigger cities are just a few minutes away. Amazing stay overall!

All was just perfect.

The accommodation exceeded our expectations. Very nice house (local traditional style decorated with paintings) located in a quiet area with a lovely garden were we could play with our daughter. We had a dedicated parking, small seating area next to the entrance. The room was nicely decorated, the bed was comfortable as well as a bathroom. We also got an extra bed for our daughter. So all-in-all we were very happy with our stay. We received precise instructions about how to enter the room and were to leave the key upon check out. So all was perfect.

The only slight problem was locating the apartment (number 4) - it was round the back and up a flight of stairs - but once there the key code information worked. Later on we thought we'd locked ourselves out but the owner was on hand to show us the technique with the key.

The best place we stayed on out trip. The building was beautiful - as the photos indicated -and the interior was full of character and very well supplied with everything you could possibly need. The best and least expected thing was the view from the back - a mountain in your back garden! Good places to eat within walking distance. Advance information was clear as was the paperwork left in the apartment. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast you could pre-order but we saw other guests enjoying theirs sitting out in the garden. A place to return to. PS the green box to drop off the registration info was right outside the door - having searched the end of the drive, the back and front entrance to the main building etc etc!!

The location was fun. The mountains are very close and there is a playground around the corner that the kids enjoyed. The apartment (we had unit 2, top floor) was fantastic - plenty of space and ambiance.
