Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomVery stingy coffee and tea provisions in the room - one tiny tea bag for two people! The cleaning of the bedroom was superficial at best. We were not given new towels for the whole of our stay. And on the first day the room was not made up at all. When it was the sheets weren’t straightened up at all, the duvet was simply thrown over and tucked in at the bottom. My sister and I who were staying are not untidy, we hang everything and put things away, so were a little surprised by this attitude in a 5 star hotel. The reception staff were ok when we checked in, but off-hand when we asked for advice. For example we needed to know about trains from Hamburg to Hannover, they couldn’t give us an answer and could not be bothered to check. It wasn’t even at a busy time. Not the service one would expect from a hotel of this calibre. The reception staff were more interested in talking amongst themselves than in helping their guests.
Great Location in the centre of Hamburg. Public areas beautifully appointed but limited in size. The breakfast buffet was exceptional with an amazing choice, and wait staff were excellent; but you have to ask for a pot of coffee if you don’t want to use the infernal coffee machine. Room service in the evening was limited but good.

Everything was expected and no negative surprise. I enjoyed nice views from my room on the 7th floor.

great location with a lot of shopping around, can reach many places on foot. love the canals and old Hamburg "warehouse" style around. Nice rooms with fantastic beds, pillows, duvets and mattresses. Some of the best I stayed in. Elegant lobby and very helpful staff. Great Hotel.

Germany- Not all stuff members are trained to work at 5 star hotel. Hotel's tag line: "Get the celebrity treatment with world-class service ..." set our expectations very high. However, the treatment was far away from that. This was notable especially during the check-in as our first impression. Mature lady at the reception were dealing with check-ins with an attitude as an airport passport control, with zero empathy for the exhausted guests. - Usability design is not done well in the rooms. For example some lights and lamps is not easy to understand how to switch on. This is almost a torture for an old persons. Looks like hotel hired designer who made things to look nice but not so functional. - Locking the safe by using hotel card breaks the code in the card, after that the card can't open the room any more. This required going down to reception to fix the card, plus waiting for the safe to be unlocked by hotel staff. - Nice photos are setting the higher expectation about the hotel, in reality interior is not that fancy and new. - All above listed made us feeling that overall offer was not meeting expectation, with moderate value/money ratio.
- Location of the hotel is exceptional, in the very city center, between U-bahn and S-bahn stations. This was the best value of the hotel. - Some stuff members were very polite and professional (e.g. man working late sift at reception and man working as baggage handler) - Breakfast was very good, within the expected range after reading comments here.

SerbiaTowels weren't changed when room "cleaned" even though they were put into the sink. Glasses also not washed. Mini bar totally empty and you have to go to the reception if you want to have someting in the room (in my opinion, not 5 star service at all). One morning there were some workers in the hotel who started with banging on the wall at 9am. That could be done later when people are out. We were trying to sleep and rest but it was impossible since that pounding on the wall of the workers lasted long.
Room size, fantastic location for exploring beautiful Hamburg, kind staff always ready to help.

We had a wonderful stay! Reception was always friendly and hospitable, and so were the staff at breakfast. Breakfast was also a good spread so we started our days full. Our room was spacious and clean and I also made use of the pillow menu for even more comfort. Location was fantastic with a few train lines close by. Overall, we’d absolutely stay here again.
